To try: white wine sangria

In our book, hot weather calls for sangria and this east coast heat wave has left us thirsty! While perusing recipes and comparing notes with friends, I was reminded of my all time favorite white sangria courtesy of Williams Sonoma. If you follow this recipe exactly, you'll end up with a dangerously delicious summer beverage... enjoy!

You'll need:

Ice cubes as needed

4 cups dry white wine

1/4 cup amaretto liqueur or apricot or peach brandy

2 Tbs. sugar

1 ripe peach, pitted and sliced

1 ripe nectarine, pitted and sliced

1 ripe apricot, pitted and sliced

1 cup pitted and sliced cherries

Mix the wine, liqueur and sugar {stir until the sugar dissolves} in a large pitcher. Add the peach, nectarine, apricot and cherries to the pitcher and stir. Let it sit for 30 minutes- 1 hour {so the fruit gets nice and juicy} and then add ice to the pitcher. Serve in chilled glasses with ice.
