A weekend wind down

Happy Friday! What is on your to-do list for the weekend? One thing we've been dying to do is make some of the boozy popsicles on Endless Simmer, a brilliant foodie blog. Each of these mouth watering recipes read to be refreshing and are a fun way to cool down... for those of age. This one is on the top of our list:

The recipe for peach syrup can be found here. And while on topic of popsicles, have you seen this Zoku Quick Pop Maker from Williams Sonoma? GAHH! If only we discovered this sooner... it could have changed the ENTIRE summer. This will surely be on the "Must Have" list for next summer.

Have a lovely weekend!!

Happy Friday

Hi pretties! What are you doing for the long weekend? Any fun plans? Please share. :) In just a few short hours, Paper Moss is taking off on a little vacay for the long weekend. Oh yes, said vaycay will involve soaking up sunshine, devouring barbecued food, long talks with friends, snacking on s'mores, pooling {hopefully with some floating flamingos}, relaxing and guaranteed lots of laughing. Since we blog about things that inspire us, it's fitting to say that this weekend will be one of those things and we're just beyond pumped!

Whatever it is that you have planned for the long weekend, we wish you lots of smiles, inspiration & safe travels!

Crazy for Calligraphy

Aside from OBSESSING over paper {the color, texture, weight... the smell} we just can't control our raging adoration of calligraphy! Seriously, in our line of work we have the blessing of working with some of the most phenomenal calligraphers. Here are some calligraphy & addressing trends that we're just swooning over!!

Cinco de Mayo

Any excuse to celebrate is a good excuse to celebrate- that's my philosophy. Perhaps growing up on the west coast made me fall in love with Cinco de Mayo {it was always a big deal} so when I uprooted and came out east, the tradition of celebrating this flamboyant & fun holiday could not be let go. Alas the time has come to celebrate Mexican heritage... so what makes a good Cinco de Mayo party in my book? It's simple really...

{1} Festive desserts such as these piñata cookies are a MUST!

{2} Distract guests with home made guacamole while putting those finishing touches on dinner... Works like a charm! Every. Time.

{3} Enchiladas are our entree of choice and this year we're thinking of switching up the traditional chicken with chipotle shredded pork!

{4} Obviously margaritas are a necessity. OBVIOUSLY. We sure love a traditional marg but this year, there may be another flavor to add to the menu.

And you better BELIEVE that if I had the time, I would make a fancy piñata for us to punch on this weekend. :) There's always next year! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Anna

Pretty inviting: Erin & Christian

Hey there! Today, we get to share one very special invitation suite that we created for an incredible fall wedding last year. This sweet couple had just re-located to London in the midst of planning their Pennsylvania wedding. They came to us with a simple & timeless vision for their invitation suite to set the stage for a gorgeous, rustic affair. Through creating their custom monogram and using a rich shade of antique brown along with a natural cork material {belly band} to add texture, we brought their letterpress vision to life and are just thrilled with it!! I {Anna} am such a sucker for monograms!

In addition to the basic invitation suite, Erin & Christian added a z-fold booklet to provide all the details for their wedding weekend. So perfect to tuck behind that belly band!

Thanks for letting us share and for being equally as giddy about pretty paper! Have a fabulous day!

Glittery Kicks

There's nothing better than a little bit of bling to brighten up your day, right? We're just obsessing over the glittery and glitzy shoes that we're seeing in so many styles these days... and these are a fun change from donning the standard bling, jewelry. What do you think about this Shoesday Trend? Love it or hate it?

Vintage-Preppy Sophistication

There is something so crisp, classic, sophisticated & fun about incorporating bold black & white stripes into a wedding. We put together this little inspiration board to harness the vision of using "black & white stripes" as one of the colors in a palate paired with pops of bold colors and pale pink. These colors happened to perfectly encapsulate the classic vintage and preppy vibe that we were aiming for. Don't you just adore the elegance that this conveys?!

The Art of The Cart

Who would have thought that bringing back the trend of a bar cart could be so enticing? The gals from Society Social make it mindless to fall for these spunky, fashionable carts... we think you'll agree. What a fun way to fancify your dining room or easily create a chic entertaining area in another part of your home!

Heavens!! How cute would those be around a dining room table?! We also pulled together some of our fave stylish bar necessities to complete the look...

1. OBSESSING over these 1920's style cocktail glasses from Glasses from Crate & Barrel.

2. A cocktail shaker such as this one is a must.

3. This beautiful cocktail book provides 200 delicious concoctions {divided into sections based on liquor} along with witty commentary such as, "Gin: If gin had a wardrobe, it would be full of pleated skirts and ruffled shirts, lots of tweed and brooches."

How can you resist this fun re-birth of an old-school trend?? Happy Friday, lovelies!

A tribute to Reva

No matter what time of year, the Reva flat from leading lady, Tory Burch is the go-to shoe. Did you know these kicks were inspired by Tory's mother? How sweet is that... and refreshing to know that even a famous designer such as her has found inspiration from someone so near and dear!

If only we could have a pair in every color! If you're a fellow Reva fan, we must know... are you going to pre-order the new Leopard Ballet Flat?? How is everyone feeling about the returning animal print craze?

It's here. AGAIN.

Yes, it's here again: MONDAY. Ew. Are you ready to head into the week? It's truly going to be a great one!! The folks over at Pixel Cloud made this totally adorable inspirational sign fit for today. Honestly, shouldn't we all just buy one?! Imagine setting this on your desk as you rush out of the office on a Friday evening, eager for the events that the weekend holds... and then when Monday arrives, you've planned to give yourself a little inspiration! Just think about it. :)

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!! We hope that you are doing something fun on this glorious day and savoring this day off of work. Don't get caught caught up in the cuteness of Red, White & Blue desserts...fabulous sales... festive decorations... or the delicious barbecue food, but remember WHY we are celebrating! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all those who have died in honor of our country. That being said, we couldn't resist sharing some of our favorite, festive desserts for the holiday!! Thank you to Cupcakes & Cashmere and Twig and Thistle for the fun, yummy ideas!

The little lady

Once long ago, we had the duty of being a flower girl. Somehow it was not a pleasant experience... perhaps it was due to the hideous dress or the plastic flowers we carried down the aisle?? You know what we're talking about... did you have a similar experience? We are beyond thankful that there are so many adorable options for flower girls today thanks to companies like JcrewJanie and Jack and even Etsy. Don't get us wrong, we LOVE the tutus that we see in so many weddings, but here are some other options if you're not into that...

How great are these sun umbrellas?!
