Spring Green

Maybe it's because St. Patricks day was yesterday or perhaps it's the fact that we can't seem to get over 2013's Pantone of the year, but we're LOVING all things green. A range of green tones for a wedding palette is quickly becoming one of our fresh new faves. Playing up greens in the floral department is also a huge trend right now... garland draped down the center of long tables, adding more greenery to bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. This palette paired with white and hints of gold is a super elegant look!

Cake Trends: Patterns + Florals

One art form that we've always admired is cake designing! Perhaps it's due to our inability to transfer anything remotely artistic to edible things- it's definitely not our wheelhouse! :) Some of the cake styles and trends that we've seen floating around lately have captured our attention and we couldn't resist sharing one of those in particular- geometric patterns paired with florals. Though it's kind of edgy in style, we think the mixing of these elements makes for an interesting & elegant look!

This walk through of translating a trend into a baked good is pretty fun too!! What do you think?!

Classic With a Twist

When it comes to wedding palettes, you can't go wrong with keeping a neutral palette- it's timeless! Inspired by the warm tones of blush, white, taupe and gold, we put together this board to showcase one of our new designs from The Collection. Our "Classic with a Twist" suite can be customized with wording, fonts, ink & envelope liner colors and printing method. We love how elegant & versatile it is!!

Pretty Paper: Tiffany & Alan

We recently had a batch of our recent Save the Dates and invitation suites photographed by the lovely & talented Erin McGinn Photography! Words can't even describe how excited we are to share some of our recent work with you all and we're kicking it off today. You probably know how much we love mixing fonts so designing a text heavy, modern Save the Date was a blast to work on. Tiffany & Alan wanted to keep a neutral palette and we're just in love with the rich charcoal & natural paper combination!

We'll share their invitation suite soon too, but want to hold off until after their big day... which is this weekend! Congrats to Tiffany & Alan!!!

On another note, don't forget to order your Paper Moss Holiday cards ASAP! Check out our 2014 Holiday designs and order by November 17th!!

The Mrs. Box

On the chance that you haven't heard by now, we couldn't miss the opportunity to share the arrival of the hottest "must have" that just arrived on the wedding scene. The minds behind the beloved & inspiring blog, Grey Likes Weddings recently released The Mrs. Box. These vintage velvet covered ring boxes are surely the snazziest way to showcase your bling for wedding detail shots... or for those of you popping the question, we can't think of anything better to present the ring in!! They come in a variety of colors & the top can be foil stamped with an initial. Perhaps indicating the soon-to-be last name?! Whatever color you choose, foil or no foil printing, we're absolutely smitten with these bright boxes. Check out the whole selection here!!

Flower girl frocks

I'm a sucker for miniature versions of things- cupcakes, dogs, baby shoes and so on. Do you get that same gushy feeling?! When it comes to picking out attire for the kiddos in the wedding party, there is nothing more fun than seeing the frills, lace, ribbons and poufs available for flower girls! These dresses are some of our current faves for that little lady, many of which are available on Etsy, believe it or not!

Which is your favorite?

The first year

Today friends, is a special day in my world. One year ago, my man and I vowed to spend our lives together, for better or worse. It's crazy how fast the time has flown by... and to think of all that has happened!! It has been quite a roller coaster of a year, but I am beyond thankful to have my best friend by my side to face all of the ups and downs that life throws at us. A couple of months ago, the idea popped into my head to recite our vows every year on our anniversary. Leading up to our wedding, we took preparing for our marriage very seriously. We wanted to spend just as much {if not more} time building a foundation for our marriage as we did planning the details of our wedding. Our vows continue to be a powerful reminder of our promise & commitment to each other and to God.

We chose to say traditional vows at our wedding, so when I came across this gorgeous print from Lindsay Letters, I was so excited!

If you want to adopt this tradition, there are many calligraphers and artists on Etsy that you can commission to customize your own words of commitment. Although I LOVED the gold foil print above, I wanted a slightly more traditional piece that included our names & wedding date, so I asked the talented Kristen Henderson, to hand letter ours!

Do you have any special anniversary traditions?

Organic Wedding Inspiration

One of our favorite wedding trends as of late, is incorporating elements from nature to create a lush, romanic ambience. We get to hear about all of the fun details that are in planning phase for our clients, but it's crucial for us to make sure that the invitations we're designing accurately set the tone for the wedding. Having a loose color palette and a near whimsical feel, playing with textures and sparing no effort for elegance, we're giddy at the endless possibilities of this organic look. Here's what we're envisioning...

What do you think?! Do you love it or prefer a more polished style?

Tea time!

While perusing Style Me Pretty awhile back, we stumbled across this gorgeous Seattle wedding that featured a loose leaf tea bar for guest favors. Don't get me wrong, I would choose coffee over tea most days, but there is something so peaceful & comforting about sipping a cup of tea. Isn't this such a sweet idea?

If you're a tea lover, here are some other fun ways to blend into your wedding day. Aren't these corked test tubes full of leaves just adorable?! And it may come as no surprise, but we're in love with incorporating vintage style tea boxes or china!

Hints for a happy marriage

It's easy to revel in the emotions of being in love and planning a beautiful wedding, but we think one of the most important parts of wedding planning, is MARRIAGE planning! Marriage is hard work and it's not about always "feeling in love", it's about choosing to love your spouse for better or worse. Those of you who are engaged, we want to challenge you to spend some intentional time building a foundation for a lifetime together, even when you're busy picking out linens, centerpieces and going to dress fittings. ;) Plan date nights, ask each other tough questions, talk about if and when you'd want to start a family, be transparent about finances {gasp! I know, it sounds scary but it's worth it}, share your expectations of what married life will look like... etc. We absolutely adore these helpful hints for a happy marriage that Southern Weddings put together. Such a great reminder for marrieds and almost-marrieds, alike.
