A loving little reminder

One thing that I'm learning as a soon-to-be Mrs. is that no matter how many decisions we have to make for the future, or how much wedding plans can stress me out {or seemingly take over}, the most important thing is to keep our eyes on the prize. The prize being a lifetime with my best friend... the most sincere, thoughtful, considerate, driven, trustworthy, romantic and hottest man I could ever imagine sharing life with. I could go on and on about all of the reasons that my guy makes my heart leap, but on this Wedding Wednesday, I'll instead encourage you to set wedding plans aside and remind your loved one of all the things that you adore about them.

{via}

 Life gets busy, but keep your eyes on the prize!

Gold rush

While juggling the tasks of wedding planning and preparation, one of the things that has seemed most daunting is registry for housewares. Where do we begin? Now we're supposed to put together a list of things that {hopefully} compliment each other, in effort to create our new home together. I've been living the single life for decades and have taken every opportunity to create a home consisting of all things feminine and elegant. As I start to think about nesting with my man, I'm determined to maintain a chic style, now paired with some sort of rustic manliness? Yea it sounds impossible, however I'm hoping that by incorporating bits of gold with simple colors and varying textures, we can make this happen... or at least come close. Here are a few ideas that got my wheels turning:

1- Triple Tiered Pendant Shade

2- Giant Dot Rug

3- LOVE sign

4- Gold shelf DIY

5- Sparkle Throw Pillow

6- Gold Dot Sheets

7- Studded Stacking Bowls

Those who have already been down this road, how have you found a happy medium?! Any tips?

Weekend Inspiration

Hey friends! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Is it just me or did this week seem like it was a month long?! I mean, it felt like a fabulous & productive month, but a month none the less. :) On to more fun things, what do you have planned for the weekend? Since I am heading to Seattle to dig into wedding plans, our weekend inspiration is appropriately laced with some hipster flavor.

Find some new tunes

Hit up the local record store and scour the shelves for new music! This was a regular occurrence when I lived in Seattle, but now I just miss it. Searching through old records, looking at the album art work and wondering the story behind each disk... it's all so inspiring! Give it a try!!

{via}

Chill out with some ice cream

Well it probably won't be hot in the pacific northwest, where I'm headed, HOWEVER there are some incredible ice cream shops that I've been dreaming of lately and will happily be visiting. Molly Moon's is first on the list and since you can't join me (unless you're in the greater Seattle area, in which case CALL ME!) you can check out the deliciousness on the pages of their recipe book, which can be found in your local Anthro store. Don't deprive yourself of joy: get your hands on a copy! And in case you're wondering, this is what I'll be eating...

{via}

Be adventurous

While the weather is nice, go soak up some sun, get some fresh air and enjoy the opportunity to relax!!

Happy weekending!

Weekend Inspiration

Happy Friday! I'm not sure about you, but we have a big weekend ahead. You know, one of those weekends where you ideally need to be rested in order to conquer all that needs to be done? Well, this is what we're up to...

Moving!

After weeks of re-organizing and purging and packing the office, Paper Moss is making a move this weekend! We're super excited about our new space in Back Bay and you better believe that we'll be sharing more details {and pics!!} once we're settled!! Until then, pray for me as I sweat it out this weekend with the movers!

{via}

Celebrate & cool down!

You better believe that come Sunday evening, I'll be ready to indulge in something sweet and celebrate that the move is over! I've had my eye on these Champagne & Raspberry popsicles for some time now and it seems that in celebratory fashion, this weekend will be perfect to try them out. Champagne just makes every celebration a little more sparkly!

{via}

What are your weekend plans?

Fruit infusion

When the warm weather hits, the last thing I want is a heavy meal. Especially now that I'm going to be a Mrs. soon, I'm looking to start a stock pile of seasonal recipes for my man {farewell to my dinners of wine and cookies} and for entertaining. As of late, I've been loving all of the recipes that rope in whole fruit for some fresh, spring flavors!

Fabulous flat breads

I've had my eye on this yummy nectarine + fresh basil + balsamic reduction pizza ever since I stumbled upon it on pinterest. Fruit on a pizza may not go over well with my man, but you better believe that I'm up for the adventure!! Perhaps this is best saved for a dinner with girlfriends... :)

{via}

Fancy salads

What could be better on a warm evening than a good salad? This Bacon, Pear & Blueberry mix sounds like the perfect blend of sweet and savory and could be eaten solo for a light meal or paired with an entree. I'll definitely be filing this recipe away for the next barbecue I host or attend!

{via}

Sip on sangria

Every year as we wait for the first slew of warm days, I dream of what kind of sangria will be the first of the season. Just the other week I spotted this recipe for Spring Sangria and it sounds every bit delicious! Strawberry, pineapple and citrusy flavors paired with white wine & seltzer... doesn't it sound refreshing? We might just have to give it a go this weekend!

{via}

Do you have any fabulous recipes that combine sweet & savory? If so, please share! :)

Have a lovely long weekend!!

Weekend Inspiration

Is it just me or did this week fly by? After a fabulous time last night at our Fashion Crush event, we're SUPER excited for this weekend. Why you may ask?? Well, keep reading our weekend inspiration!

Look at pretty paper

Emily and I are getting ready to pack up and head to NYC for the National Stationery Show! Among stationery nerds like ourselves, this is like Christmas. It only comes but once a year and we anticipate, plan and strategize how we want to tackle it. We'll be soaking up the latest stationery trends, new paper lines and all of that fun stuff. ;) If you'd like to celebrate this joyous occasion, you can do so by picking up some pretty paper and sending notes to friends and family!!

{via}

Spice up the bun

We all love the sock bun, but let's be honest... sometimes it's a little too formal for everyday wear. One of my favorite approaches for the bun, is to put the sock at the base of a loose, high ponytail but rather than rolling the hair in the sock, wrap it around the sock, then pin and spray. This creates a loose, messier version. After catching this pic on Pinterest, I am now excited to pop a scarf into the mix for a fabulous little springtime take!

{via}

Try a DIY

Since we all spend a lot of time on the computer, we thought this mousepad might be a fun and ridiculously easy way to spice up the work space. Want to join in the fun with a little DIY this weekend? Get the "how to" over on Lovely Indeed!

Happy weekending!

Weekend inspiration

Friday is here at last! What do you have planned to celebrate the weekend? In the midst of letting loose and relaxing, don't forget that Mothers Day is on Sunday! Here are some of the things on our agenda for being a weekend warrior...

Love on the moms in your life

Regardless of if you do gifts for your mother and/or mother in law, take extra time to write a heartfelt card. This day is all about celebrating their parenting through the ups and downs of life.

{via}

Get your brunch on!

Mother's Day brunch is a tradition that I miss so dearly- being on the other side of the country from my mom is just short of torture during this time of year! If you have the opportunity to spoil your mama in person this weekend, think about taking the brunch, lunch or dinner up a few notches with a fun table scape to make her feel like her day is a special event! I'm loving this fresh, springy scape!!

{via}

Plan a trip

Traveling is one GIGANTIC cultivator of inspiration for me. Yes, I'm currently on a trip {in Minnesota} but while I'm away, I challenge you to plan your next escapade! Whether it's a relaxing weekend get away or a week long adventure, plan something to look forward to. What's next up on your travel wish list?

{via}

While we're at it, we'd feel bad not mentioning that Kate Spade has an awesome vacation giveaway happening right now!! Enter to win the vaycay of a lifetime courtesy of Kate!!

Weekend Inspiration

I don't know if you know, but this is kind of a big weekend!! Between the Kentucky Derby starting tomorrow and Cinco de Mayo being on Sunday, there are so many opportunities for fun, friendship and festiveness!!

Sip on a mint julep

Even if you're not in to horse racing, you can't deny that the tradition and festivities behind the Kentucky Derby are intriguing. Why not play the part by donning some super extravagant hats and sipping on mint juleps? Or if you're not keen on that idea, at least whip up a Julep & tune in for the annual hat parade as guests show off their derby fashion!

{via}

PLUS in the spirit of this weekend, check out this Kentucky Derby inspired bridal shower designed by our friend Lauren of Lauren Wells Events!! So fun!

Celebrate the cinco

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays {apart from Christmas & Easter, which have sentimental value} and along with the usual enchiladas, margs & guac that we celebrate with, I'd like to take it a step up with crafting a piñata. We bought one last year from a party store but thanks to this awesome inspiration from Studio DIY, I might be dusting off the gold paint can!! How are you planning to celebrate?

{via}

Take some more pics

When things get busy, this is one of the last things I think of doing. This weekend, why not get out there and snap some photos of springtime, of festivities, of your city or if you dare... of strangers! With Instagram making editing so easy & fun, {non-professional} photography is such an accessible art form. Nothing quite compares to the beauty & talent of a stellar photog but gosh darn it, we'll keep trying! ;)

Happy weekending!!

A sparkly Monday, indeed!

Oh hello there and happy Monday! After an incredible weekend of smiles, surprises & celebrations, we're ready to dive head first into this week. In honor of some exciting things happening in the Paper Moss office right now, {stay tuned for updates!!} it is only appropriate to kick off this week with some glittery inspiration...!

{clockwise from top left: via; via; via}

Weekend Inspiration

Happy Friday! Today's weekend inspiration is about all things spring. Now that spring has finally sprung, we're delighted to give in to the sunshine and recover from a pretty harsh winter... not to mention a tough couple of weeks in Boston. Whatever you have up your sleeves for the next couple of days, we hope it's filled with sun, smiles and relaxation!

Get a pedi

Dust off those sandals and show off that pretty polish! Either get pampered and let someone else do the dirty work or if you're on a budget, try some of these tips for an at home pedicure.

{via}

Brighten up

If these ladies can pull it off, so can YOU. Don't be intimidated by the glowingly bright denim that is trending; embrace it! I scored a pair of neon yellow skinnies (like the ones on the far right) and they quickly became a favorite. You'll seriously feel like you're helping summer come faster and really, we should all be doing our part to make sure that happens. :)

{via; via; via}

Spread some cheer

We all love a little positive feedback, right? Well pretend it's valentines day {sans mushiness} and tell your besties, roommates, husbands, coworkers & neighbors what you appreciate about them. It will make their day and chances that they'll spread the cheer are pretty high.

Happy weekending, loves!

Weekend inspiration

In light of the heart wrenching events in Boston this week, our weekend inspiration is all about comfort, reflection, encouragement and strength.

1. Get your bake on

Baking is one stress reliever that benefits many. When I saw these blueberry + honey butter cupcakes I knew it was a matter of time until I found a reason to whip them up. If you're not in need a reason to bake this weekend, you'll want to file this recipe away! Don't they sound delish?!

{via}

4. Reflect

Getting out of bed at an ungodly hour to see the sunrise is painful, but every bit worth it!! This is one of my favorite times to reflect, to pray and to take in the beauty of the world that is so easily distracted by the busyness of life. After all that has happened this week, carving out a time for reflection is beyond needed. Thank you, Rich Williams Photography for sharing this stunning photo of a Boston sunrise!

{via}

3. Stand as one

Those affected by the Boston Marathon bombing this week are finding ways to move forward with strength. Showing support and solidaridy in every way possible, we're pretty pumped about the men's & women's shirts that Adidas is selling to benefit The One Fund.

Happy weekending!!

Sweet sayings from Wicked Paper

After a long and beautifully busy week, sometimes all we need are some motivational words to lead us into the weekend. Perfect opportunity to share our latest Etsy find? ABSOLUTELY!!! We're digging these bright & sunny posters from Atlanta based, Wicked Paper Company. Since it would be silly to post them all, here are a few that will give you an idea of the cuteness that awaits...

{via}

{via}

{via}

Goodness! What is better than funky typography paired with sweet sayings?? Might be needing one of these for the office... but there are so many cute ones to choose from!!! :)

Friday Inspiration

After a long week, you're probably aching for some self care and some rejuvenation! If we're being honest, that's how most Fridays go in our world. :) Well our inspiration for this weekend is geared towards just that!

1. Eat healthy

{via}

We're all getting ready for swim suit weather, so we may as well cover all our bases and start with eating healthy. I love this idea of toting little salads around in a mason jar for lunches, which makes it super convenient AND easy to mix when the time comes to dig in. Cupcakes and Cashmere has some great ideas for how to make salads a little more exciting- check it out!

2. Write about it!

Journaling doesn't come naturally to many people but it can be such a great stress reliever as well as a source of igniting creativity! Soooo, go grab a super cute journal {like this one from Anthropology, perhaps?!} and scratch down whatever is on your mind. It's kind of fun flipping back through and seeing where life has taken you!

{via}

3. Get some fresh air!

There is nothing more stress relieving then going for a walk, jog, hike, bike ride or {fill in the blank} in the great outdoors. Fingers crossed that you're facing some nice weather in the next couple of days... if so, jump on outside and get refreshed!

Happy weekending, loves!

Wedding Inspiration: Romantic Neutrals

When it comes to creating a romantic glow for your wedding, we're totally swooning over the idea of pulling together muted, chic neutrals to make it happen!! Less feminine than the blush alternative, this palette is versatile and timeless. Check out our pairing of beige, cream, white and gold and let us know what you think...

{clockwise from top left: shoes; table setting; chair signs; bouquet; bridal party; cake; gown; ring}

Are you in to the neutrals or do you prefer bright & bold colors?

Let's own Monday

Oh hello friends! Welcome to Monday- how was your weekend?? In all honesty, ours was quite exhausting which makes it tough to start the week with the usual gusto. So on this grey day as winter is lingering a little too long, I am going to treat myself to an overly caffeinated beverage, sport some neon, smile at some strangers and focus on setting the tone for a FABULOUS week.

{via}

How would you create your own sunshine?!?

Weekend Inspiration

Another weekend is upon us! What do you have planned to entertain and inspire yourself this weekend? Here's a few things that we're brewing... it's going to be a lovely few days indeed!

Day tripping!

While our men are hitting the slopes on Saturday, a dear friend and I are planning a day trip to the north shore for some site seeing and shoppin'! There's nothing like leaving the city, the public transportation, the snowy streets and chaos to relax and explore a new place, with coffee in hand {obviously}! Days like these are surely filled with inspiration...

 {via}

Moisturize!!

Our skin has been feeling the effects of winter weather and we're just dying to bring it back to life! Things that can contribute to dry skin- age, genes, long hot baths or showers {guilty!}, wearing woolen clothing {how else can we keep warm?!} and weather changes. This weekend, we're taking extra care to exfoliate and then plan to use a light oil to replenish the moisture that we've been lacking. Oh,  and we must not forget to load up on good old fashioned H2O and green tea!

{1} Peter Thomas Roth Buffing Beads

{2} Josie Maran Argan Oil

{3} Smart Water

Get Cookin'!

Or in my case get baking... which comes way more naturally than cooking. I'm a die hard fan of anything with salted caramel or salted chocolate so this weekend I plan to whip up a recipe for Salted Caramel Bars that I've been eyeing on Pinterest for way too long. I cant think of anything better than cozying up inside while watching the snow fall and snacking on these little guys...

Happy Weekending!

Weekend Inspiration

Hallelujah, it's FRIDAY! Any fun weekend plans?! After a super busy week, in the Paper Moss world, we're launching into a crazy busy weekend, but in the midst of the insanity, there is still time to think outside of the box to ignite a little inspiration!!

Don some colored jeans!

Winter fashion can be tough and feel SUPER repetitive. You know what we're talking about, right?! Well Glamour Magazine makes some easy suggestions on how to spice up a winter ensemble and finding a seasonally appropriate way to rock the colored jeans has to be among our faves!

{via}

Visit the beach!

No I haven't lost my mind, but rather I'm exploring this new opportunity for inspiration. Over dinner the other night, a friend was mentioning how much he LOVED visiting the beach in the winter. I'm thinking... CRAZY! But the more I contemplate my insta-judgement, I realize that it could still be incredibly beautiful. While all of you in warmer climates laugh, I'm going to go find the beauty in some snow covered sand piles. Any east coasters care to join?

{via}

Sip some bubbly!

In our opinion, it's the ideal weekend to sip on a little bubbly. After having a surge of inspiration to make a Tuesday night champagne cocktail with a girlfriend, we discussed what a shame it is that we don't pop the bubbly more often. So alas, this recipe for a Raspberry Pomegranate champagne cocktail is on the list of weekend to-do's!

Happy weekending, lovelies!

Weekend Inspiration

Happy Friday! I'm not sure about you, but it's been a long week on my end. Emily has been holding the fort down while I've been fighting the flu. It's been such a bummer to miss out on all of the fabulousness of this week but I'm so thankful and excited to be back at it today! This weekend is going to be all about catching up on everything that was put on hold last week, as well as indulging in some of my favorite things

Get healthy!

Make sure you're taking your vitamins and sanitizing the heck out of everything you come in contact with. I'll be disinfecting this weekend, and to help my body recoup & recharge, I'll be sucking down some vitamin packed smoothies.

{via}

Beautify those hands!

With the nasty winter weather, we're in dyer need of a mani and some serious moisturizing on the hands. Why not go for something a little funkier than usual for the polish this time around?!

{via}

Snuggle up & read a book!

Find a spot that you've never been to and hunker down to dive into that book that's been waiting on your reading list for far too long. We have too many of these- it's embarrassing and it's high time to start carving out some hours to read. Not only is it great to help mellow out after a long week, but it promotes creativity AND {depending on what you read} you could learn a little something! We're dying to check out the Boston Athenaeum for a hopeful reading spot... though most of the floors are for members only, the first is open to the public. Isn't it an incredible spot?!

{via}

What do you have on the agenda this weekend?

Friday Inspiration

Happy Friday, lovelies!! We hope you had a love-filled, chocolate-filled day yesterday and are getting geared up for the holiday weekend. Do you have any fun plans in honor of Presidents Day?

Pucker Up!

I've always been a sucker for the classic look of red lips. If Taylor Swift can rock bright red lipstick, then SO CAN WE and so can YOU! Find the right shade of red to compliment your complexion and brighten up your pout for a night on the town. Find how to flawlessly apply here.

{via}

Bite the bullet & get organized!

Cold weather always makes it less appealing to go outside, so alas, we're going to take this opportunity to get re-organized. Enough with the procrastinating & excuses. This is finally happening and you better believe that it's going to feel amazing after all is said and done. Is there a closet, desk or storage space that you've been needing to re-org? Jump on board with us!! We're quite inspired by this closet layout from Design Darling...

{via}

Sing Happy Birthday!

Yes, we recognize Monday as Presidents Day, but the whole thing started in honor of good old George Washington's birthday. Why not bake a cake {or cupcakes} and celebrate Mr. Washington and the other great leaders of our country. We think this one from Mowielicious looks incredible!

{via}

Have a fabulous, long weekend!! xoxo
