Sassy sandals

With all of this hot weather we've been having in Boston, I'm reminded that it's pretty challenging to stay simultaneously stylish and cool. We're talking temps in the 90's WITH humidity... yea, that's not quite the summer weather I've been longing for. While we're forced to devote our efforts to covering odd tan lines and cooling off from stickiness, the thought of cute summer sandals gives hope to at least having chic looking feet... :) Check out our recent round up of some neutrals that we're crushing on: black & gold!

Patriotic stilettos

With independence day right around the corner, we've been contemplating the perfect ensemble for the holiday. Sadly, we'll probably end up sporting something more casual and practical {Emily being with child and I'll likely be at the beach} but should the opportunity arise to get fancy, these patriotic heels would be our first choice!!

Smart heels

It always makes me giggle when people refer to fashion as "smart". Well, today's Tuesday Shoesday pick is taking that quite literally. Books + shoes... who would have thought that the combination would be so beautiful?! But there is so much to love about this photo: the composition as a whole is stunning and those gold toes are just to die for!! Happy Shoesday, ladies!!

Mint to be

In the next week or two, we're expecting a beautiful mint and gold invitation suite to come back from print. Seeing these preppy, classy designs evolve was SO FUN and it's got me thinking about this color combo a lot lately. While I wait in anticipation for this job to arrive at the Paper Moss office, it's only appropriate to share these cool, minty wedding shoes that are making me want them for my own! Enjoy these pretty peep toes for now and I'll certainly be sharing more about said stationery in the future!!

Sassy spring heels

Now that the nicer weather is upon us in Boston, I can't help but to feel that I'm suffering from a bit of a seasonal fashion crisis. How in the last nine months have I forgotten how to dress for warm weather?! My solution? People watching. Seriously, this is not only entertaining, but it challenges me to think outside of my normal "go-to's" for what to wear. I've been reminded that shoes can totally make or break an outfit. I'm pretty excited about getting to spice up a simple dress- or skinnies & a tank with some hot heels. Currently loving these ones from Sole Society:

Do you have a pair of spring statement shoes?

Tuesday Shoesday

We have a true appreciation for shoes as an art form, as a functional form of fashion and as an ignitor of inspiration. Hence our faithful Tuesday Shoesday postings ;). Today, our pick is a little ruffly and a lot vintage. Vintage inspired shoes happen to be among my favorites. It's just intriguing to see age old trends taking on new forms. This pairing of aqua and white is so playful!!

1920's Crystal Shoesday

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you know that The Great Gatsby movie came out over the weekend. While I didn't have the chance to see it yet, I've heard some mixed reviews. Did you catch it on opening weekend? If so, what did you think?! Today's shoesday pick is in honor of the Gatsby style that has been revitalized this year. As a wedding industry professional, I couldn't be more giddy to see this 1920's influence make it's mark on weddings & show itself on stationery. Style Me Pretty recently featured a beautiful Gatsby inspired wedding shoot and these stunning Miu Miu crystal shoes completely caught my eye!!

Lace, tulle & teal

Now that I'm an engaged gal, I have wedding gowns & bridal shoes on my mind more than usual but this week, I'm especially excited for my soon to be sister in law's big day that is taking place on Friday!! As the wedding festivities approach, I'm becoming more and more eager to see her gown and to find out which wedding shoes she picked! Though this gorgeous pic is too vintage for my personal style, I'm adoring the combo of lace, tulle and teal suede! It's inspiring me to try to combine textures & patterns for my wedding day attire. What are your thoughts: too much? Too vintage? Just right??

C. Wonder

We've always loved the clean lines & preppy style of Tory Burch so it shouldn't come as a surprise that when we discovered C.Wonder, it was love at first sight. If you've never heard of this brand, take note that the man behind these gorgeous shoes, funky accessories, breathtaking handbags and crisp clothing is none other than the ex-hubby of Tory. This fact does nothing but intrigue us even more... please, join in the obsession by celebrating these bright flats for Tuesday Shoesday!!

With only a couple of boutiques around the US, visiting one has now landed a spot on our life "to-do" list. This pic is luring us in... for obvious reasons:

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!!!

April Showers

The seasons in New England can really take a toll on us... bouncing from hot days, to cold days and torrential downpours, to cloudless skies and back again. So what is one necessity in every New Englanders wardrobe? Spring rain shoes, be it rubber ballet flats or bright boots. These powder blue Hunters would certainly help take the edge off of a stormy spring day, don't you think?

At least we can rest in knowing that "April showers bring May flowers"! Hopefully. ;)

Bring on the heat

Well ladies and gents, Tuesday Shoesday is upon us and although spring is still fighting its way in, we've got sandals on the mind. Why, you ask? Well tomorrow night, my man and I head to a much warmer state {Arizona} to celebrate the wedding of one of his best childhood buds. Consequently I'm in panic mode, pulling out clothing appropriate for 90 degree weather... keeping in mind that it's been months since my last pedicure and my entire body is a lovely shade of bright white. While I bathe in sunless tanner, I couldn't resist sharing the Jack Rogers jelly sandals that I've been eyeing. Yes, the navajos return in their glorious bright sassiness, but this year I am LOVING the georgica style!

Tell me, are YOU ready for sandal weather? Which style would you go for?

Easter inspired Shoesday

Being the week leading up to Easter, I can't help but to remember the excitement I felt as a little girl, when picking out the perfect Easter dress & shoes. Although my mom and I would make a day of shopping together, she still carefully wrapped my shoes {as to not wrinkle the dress} and put the box in my Easter basket for Sunday morning. Yes, I had to fake being surprised so my brothers wouldn't catch on. :) Even as an adult, there is something so special about choosing what to wear for this special day... so this would be my pick if I could have my way with those gorgeous stacked heels!!

It's kind of awesome how shades of sherbets are making a comeback, plus you can't really go wrong with pretty, pale mint!! Happy Shoesday!

Beads & bows

Oh hello and happy Tuesday Shoesday to you! These flats are not only gorgeous from every angle, but they're not-so-tactfully reminding me that the weather in New England is ruining our chance to be fashionably excited about spring. More than anything I want to don my skinnies and some sassy flats {especially if there's a chunky gold mini heel involved} for the day, but instead we longingly admire these beauties and pray for the snow to melt.

Have a lovely day!!

Chic rainy day attire

Having grown up in Seattle, I became accustomed to not using an umbrella 95% of the time. Yes, it rains the majority of the year, but we get so used to it... it's the air we breath in the pacific northwest. I didn't realize how strange it was until I moved to Boston and learned that if there is a chance of rain, I simply couldn't survive the day without an umbrella. The reality now? Wind gusts paired with rain, fluctuating from a gentle mist to a torrential downpour and back again, all within minutes... and it leaves this Seattleite feeling a little unstable. This is why we pay attention to awesome rainy day fashion such as these beauties from Burberry:

{via/ via}

As if the umbrella isn't stunning enough with those chic stripes, we're loving the studded detailing on the handle. Too bad it's a pretty penny {as in $995} to purchase this work of art. One splurge that we will never, EVER be able to justify. So instead, we just draw inspiration from it. :)

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!!

Tuesday Shoesday: Making a statement

The last few months we've been on a pattern craze and have been drawn to all things stripes, chevron {yes, still!} and of course the timeless polkadot. These little Louis Vuitton stunners are melting our hearts with the sweet bows, paired with a classic pattern, boldly contrasting colors and their chunky heel. Quite the statement shoe, if we do say so!!

Pretty sure these are on the "must have" list for the ladies of True Event. These gals sport their signature colors at most {if not all} of their events!

It's Tieks Tuesday!

We've heard the buzz for awhile now but in all honesty didn't REALLY catch on to the fabulousness of Tieks until our friend Jillian from Cornflake Dreams was oohing and aahing over them. Naturally after spending entirely WAY TOO LONG on their site, reading reviews, seeing adorable photos, perusing colors... we're intrigued and in love. Not only are they super cute, but they're also said to be ridiculously comfy and they're also conveniently portable {case and point below}. Tieks have earned a spot on our "must have" list for sure.

White wedding shoes

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!! Today's feature is inspired by my boyfriends sweet sister, who has been on the search for the perfect white wedding shoe. While some brides have their hearts set on a bright sassy heel that "pops", others are aiming for a more elegant, traditional & timeless heel for their big day. Once you decide on the heel height {be sure and have your shoes by the time of your final dress fitting!!} the intense search begins...

{via}

One of my favorite places to search for a specific colored shoe is on Shop Style. Not only can you search by color, but you can also narrow down by price, style and brand. It is positively AWESOME. For all of you traditional brides, here's a round up of classic white shoes for our Tuesday Shoesday pick, all under $100!
