Foldable wellies

The transitional seasons of spring & fall open the door for some crazy weather here in Boston. If you're a New Englander, you know what we're talking about- one minute it's a gorgeous 75 degree sunny day and before you know it, the dark clouds have rolled in and your hot shoes are about to drown in ankle deep puddles. The uneven, brick sidewalks sure don't help either. Ah, we love to hate and hate to love the quirkiness of our city! Well, regardless of where you live, you'll probably find an appreciation for these clever Foldable Wellies from Redfoot. Yes, THANK HEAVENS, we now have the option to roll 'em up and throw the boots in a bag so we can don our cute shoes post work and post rain storm.

They come in basic black and ruby red {our fave}, shown above. Though it's hard to part with the Hunters, this is the beginning of something beautiful.

Splurge vs. Steal

Hey it's Erin from One Two Summer guest posting on one of my all time favorite accessories... SHOES! In a dream world, I’d own lots of Chanel. The iconic logo, the piping, the boxy jackets, the fabulous play on neutrals—all to die for! And I love the brand’s take on what I consider to be the perfect fall shoe: the ballerina flat. The only problem? The price. This pair sells on eBay for about $500 (I can only imagine what it goes for new—it seems impossible to find online!)

Thank goodness for ASOS.com. They sell London Rebel’s wallet-friendly take on the ballerina flat. I love how this pair incorporates so many signature Chanel elements like the quilting, the cap toe, and the nude and black color scheme. This pair even pulls a modern twist with the studded embellishments—one of fall’s hottest trends! At $41 on sale and $60 normally, there’s no need to break the bank to get your feet looking this chic.

So fun stopping by for Tuesday Shoesday! Happy shopping!

xo,

Erin

Do the Polka

It was pretty much love at first sight when our eyes met these stunning calf hair polka dot flats by Loeffler Randall. I know you know what we mean... aren't they just perfect?!

{via}

Of course, they don't quite fit into the "back to school" budget {no, we're not going back to school. Yes, it's just an excuse to shop} sooo alas, the search went on. Gladly, polka dot flats are apparently a must have for this season! They're every where- in a variety of styles & price points to fit every budget. Truly! See for yourself...

Sparkly Bows

Some people tend to over-use the word "cute". Admittedly at times we can fall into that category, but let's be honest... these punchy purple wedding shoes topped with sparkly bows are just stinkin' cute! Don't you agree?!

They might not be versatile, but they sure are glamourous and fun! Happy shoesday, gals!

Go for the gold

With the Olympics in full swing, we've got gold on the mind. Whether it's gold metals or gold stilettos, the more gold the better, right? Gladly, we've been spotting lots of shimmery and shiny, pointy toed shoes these days, and they make for the perfect summer-to-fall transition for any ensemble... don't you agree?! Which pair would you choose?

Ribbons + bows + funky flats

We've been adoring and obsessing over the adorable wooden soles and ribboned straps of Mohop shoes for over a year now. There are so many unique ways to work these sandals- it's rare that two ladies could have the same pair or would have them tied the same way. So naturally, we're pumped to find out that there are now flats available from their collection! Imagine our delight to learn that our little feet can still sport these while traipsing around the city day by day!! This is just barely the tip of the iceberg of possibility that Mohop allows... so fun, right?!

Matryoshka Shoes?!

Sometimes it's good {and necessary} to think outside the box, right? Well apparently some designers were challenged to look to other cultures for their inspiration this season. Prime example? These shoes by Charlotte Olympia which were inspired by Russian nesting dolls, AKA Matryoshka dolls.

{via}

Yes, there is even a little wooden face peeking out in the circles of black suede that mimic the cylindric shape of the doll. So this begs the question... what do YOU think?! Would you ever wear them for a playful & cultural fashion statement or are these just plain trying too hard ?!

Sperry nice!

Our love for Sperry Top-siders started years ago and like any good love story, our bond and appreciation gets stronger with the years. Yes, my first pair may have been gold, but they are so stinking comfortable, that I am about to buy my mom a pair and shortly there after, pick up a pair for grandma. If you haven't jumped on the Sperry train yet, I urge you: DO IT!! While on the topic, I must say that we're digging their more dressy & sophisticated collection of wedges right now. Bravo to whoever thought of branching out with these stylish and oh-so-comforable kicks... someone got a raise for that! So without further adieu, here are a couple of our current faves...

Reena the Moroccan Wedge

We've been in pursuit of some new wedges for summer and while trying to incorporate more patterns, textures and color into the wardrobe, we bumped into the Reena Mid Wedge while shopping over the weekend. These Moroccan inspired kicks are only 3.5 inches high {WIN!} and fit all of the criteria for said wedges. Reena has caused some serious consideration & deliberation, but the pattern might be a little too tribal for our style. What do you think??

Please weigh in, we're dying for a 2nd opinion before taking the plunge or crossing them off the list entirely. Have a lovely Shoesday, everyone!!

Tuesday Shoesday: DIY

Well happy Tuesday Shoesday to you! I'm not sure if you noticed our love for capped & colored toe shoes that we shared last week, but we're pretty psyched to have found an intriguing DIY from A Pair and a Spare where you can create the look on your own. Typically I'm not much of a DIY-er when it comes to shoes, but the idea of being able to choose the color of the shoe as well as the color of the toe is pretty enticing.

If you're up for the challenge, check out the DIY here and please, please, please let us know how it turns out! We'd even love to see pictures!!

Colored Toes

One shoe trend that we're just dying over are flats with capped, colored & contrasting toes! Such a fun way to brighten up an outfit and add some pizazz to your basic, oh-so-practical flats. Truth be told, with seeing so many colors, textures, patterns and materials in this trend, it's become a little overwhelming to know where to start!!!

Let's be honest- any of them would be great, right? Which would you start with?

Good as gold

Some ladies lean more towards silver or platinum when it comes to precious metals, but for the last few years we just can't get enough of all things gold. Yes, even in our invitation suites we have had the joy of mixing and matching sparkly tones and foils to achieve some fairly glitzy, yet oh-so-elegant invitation suites. These Gucci peep toes are no exception- we're pretty sure that even if you're not a gold lover, they will blow your mind...

 Mind blown? You're welcome. :) Happy Tuesday Shoesday!

Soludos

Confession: this girl {Anna} did not know what espadrilles were until a couple of years ago when a dear friend was referencing the shoes she would be donning for a summer evening out. What makes this unfortunate? I studied fashion in college... how did I miss that vocab word?! If you're in the same boat, just file that word away under summertime shoe faves and make note that a pair of Soludos espadrilles should probably find their way into your closet this summer. ;)

{via}

I just love their mantra that there is "life beyond the flip flop" and it reminds me to expand my horizons for casual shoe wear. Yes, these may appear to be a close relative to Toms, but don't be fooled! Soludos have been around for centuries and were sold in the Mediterranean long before they ventured into the states. We're obsessed with their breathable jute sole & their pretty patterned cotton & linen body... all perfect characteristics for those sunny summer days!

Setting Sail

If we're honest with ourselves, we can admit that it's been a little refreshing to focus on the current trends of neon and pastels for the spring as of late. They're so bright & fun! Well, today's shoesday brings back the classic nautical style that we'll always be partial to. We love to go sailing and on top of that, living in New England, we're just naturally submersed in all things nautical & preppy. No complaints here! :) A few weeks ago when a dear friend sent us the link to these pumps, our hearts nearly leapt our of our chests and we've been dreaming of them ever since!

{via}

Just looking at those little anchors, we can't help but to imagine a peaceful, sunny day out on the water... taking in the fresh air... ah! Wouldn't that be amazing?

What would you pair these pumps with?

Tuesday Shoesday: Paloma Barceló

It's a rainy day in New England and as much as a cozy, soggy, grey day reminds me of home {Seattle}, I'm just bursting at the seams... nearly DYING for summer to arrive. Yes, I'm OVER this "April showers" business. Let's get on with it and embrace the sunshine, shall we? :) We've been searching abroad for this shoesday inspiration and after laying eyes on these intricately braided, rainbow wedges, we just needed to pay tribute to the Spanish brand, Paloma Barceló. Most known for their savvy collection of espadrilles, we think these Mallorca Knotted Suede sandals sum up their signature epically bright, punchy twist.
