Hand made perfection

Happy Monday - After - Mothers Day! Did you show your mom some love this weekend? We are so blessed to have such wonderful mothers... one day of celebration just doesn't do them justice! Several years ago while living in Seattle, I started the tradition of getting my mom Glassy Baby's for Mothers Day.

After stumbling across the humble workshop {formerly in Greenlake}, I spent some time talking with the owner and watching the magic of each individual piece being created... and falling in love with these little babies! Since then, Glassy Baby has become a staple in many homes as candle holders, cups, toothbrush holders or bud vases.

They come in soooo many different colors and to make us love them even more, certain colors are tied to causes which receive a percentage of the revenue, such as:

{Happiness: 10% from the sale of each "happiness" Glassy Baby will be donated to Gilda's Club New York City to support cancer patients and their families}

If you're nerdy like me, you might enjoy seeing how they're made. :)

I'm kicking myself for failing to carry on the tradition of this Mothers Day gift this year.... they're just so beautiful, don't you agree??

Stamposaurus!

There is something extraordinary about vintage pieces. Knowing something is from an era that is foreign to us and that it has a story behind it is kind of romantic, right? Knowing our love for vintage stamps in particular, a friend of Paper Moss brought these adorable pictures from Stamposaurus to our attention. It was love at first sight! AND if you buy one now, they're still offering 20% off in celebration of the Royal Wedding!!

How can so many fabulous things come out of the UK! :)

Our favorite party favors

While flipping through the May issue of InStyle magazine, we were floored to see that a company called Baby Cakes came out with a Cake Pop maker!  Remember those darling little balls of cakey goodness that we shared awhile back?  Well, although we like to believe that Bakerella was the original founder of the pops, we are oh - so - grateful for this waffle - like maker to simplify the process. ESPECIALLY if you're making large quantities for party favors!

Buy your Cake Pop machine here, and take note that they also offer mini- doughnut and whoopie pie makers!! If you're looking for some cake pop inspiration {or a cute gift} get your hands on a copy of this:

We couldn't resist a sharing the good news!! Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

A little Vineyard Vines touch

One of our favorite weddings of 2010 brought the opportunity for Paper Moss to work with a classic New England brand, Vineyard Vines. By now, you have got to know how much we thrive on customizing things. When the opportunity came about to customize ties for one of our grooms and his groomsmen, see the classic, preppy and sentimental spin it put on this idyllic wedding.

What a gorgeous group of people! To see more of Abby & Andrew's big day, check out our previous post.

Interested in having custom ties for your wedding? Don't hesitate to ask us how to make it happen!!! The possibilities are endless...

Link those cuffs!

French cuffs: the words go together perfectly. While it's not the cuffs that matter {but rather the man inside the shirt} we can't deny our love for the options and splash of personality that cuff links can provide. What a fun way to add another element of customization to a wedding! Have you seen all of the options available??! A fabulous gift for your groom-to-be? Perhaps a little groomsmen gift? Here are some of our favorite sweet & classic ideas for a wedding, but don't stop here, browse on!!

This colorful calendar from Scribble on Everything seems like the perfect addition to an office wall to keep all those important dates at the forefront of your mind... or perhaps to spice up a wedding count down? What do you think- worth it for $80? undefined

We had a chance to get to know a little more about the lovely lady behind all these pretty pieces. Here's what Neallie had to say:

How did you get into the business? I have been creating jewelry since I was young, it was an absolute favorite hobby of mine. I was lucky enough to find a career within the couture bridal industry straight out of college where I used my creativity daily, and worked with brides and wedding professionals throughout the country.  After staying home with my kiddos for a few years I decided to start my own business and my immediate instinct was to create jewelry and accessories for brides.  I have since expanded my line to include colors and styles which can be worn day to night, for any and all occasions.

What is your favorite part? My favorite part of creating is just that. I love to create beautiful sparkly jewelry that makes you smile the second you see it.

Do you have a signature piece? I would say that my signature pieces are my E101 earrings, they are the absolute favorite among my customers, friends and family. They add just the right amount of sparkle and bling to your everyday jeans and t-shirt, or they are perfect with a wedding gown. I love them.

And of course, with that plastic genie we could acquire all the other fun finds. Happy Weekend to you all, we'll see ya Monday!

Sweets for your Sweet

Food is the way to pretty much anyone's heart {let's be honest}. Well in light of the upcoming holiday, we thought it appropriate to highlight some of our favorite Valentine Day treat finds.

Perhaps you're a fan of our Cake Pops post from a few months back... we noticed it was quite a hit! Well, Bakerella, the creators of Cake Pops have many other fabulous recipes up their sleeves such as this one for Red Velvet Sandwich cookies. Oh HEAVENS! Roll up a stack in clear cellophane and tie ribbons on each end and it's the perfect little V-day gift!

If you haven't heard of the Message-in-a-Cookie from Williams-Sonoma yet, then climb out of the cave you've been hiding in! Okay, not all of us are up to speed on cookie trends, but seriously, you have to check this out. Granted, the actual making of the cookies is quite tedious, but the outcome is so adorable and so worth it! What better way to say how you feel than through a COOKIE?!!

We spotted this post from Baking Therapy's 2010 Valentines day celebration. Not only are they super cute, but they used the chocolate cupcake recipe from the infamous Magnolia Bakery with a little inspiration from Scootabaker {LA's home delivery bakery... brilliant!!}

Our Monday obsession.

Cupcakes are pretty close to being perfect on their own, but putting them in adorable containers that allow for fabulous party favors to-go makes us speechless. You see, some of us at Paper Moss (who shall remain nameless) don't have that 'special touch' when it comes to baking. Oh they taste good, but their appearance wouldn't make you think so. In other words, this DIY might be the perfect fit for those of us that need some help in the presentation department. Gotta love projects like that! Now for those of you who don't share our little problem... well, this should be a cake-walk.

{red velvet cake & cream cheese frosting, oh my}

Thank you Cakies, for being so cute and brilliant!!

Get your bling on!

How could we resist sharing this fabulous Boston-based find ~ JOJO’s Bling?! We truly have been obsessing over these little swarovski crystals for months and figured that today of all days {New England being covered in sparkly snow and all} was just the day to share it. Ladies, please note: there is a color and style for every occasion/outfit/wedding color scheme. If you’re not careful, you might be like one local nurse who is rumored to wear bling to match every pair of scrubs she owns. ;)

As if the above isn't fabulous enough, check out JOJO's Party Bling collection... some occasions just call for more sparkle!

For all the brides out there, JOJO loves working with you to create masterpieces for your maids, mothers or yourself. Perfection!

That's a Wrap!

If giving gifts is one of the greatest parts about this season, then wrapping gifts may be the second! It’s no secret that we’ve loved ribbons, bows and pretty paper since we were young, but only recently was it brought to our attention that we can be a little O.C.D about holiday wrapping. In our defense, we aren’t the only one’s who choose a color palate each year for giftwrap. Martha does it too.

Here are a few fun ideas to make the outside of your holiday gifts a little more special. It’s what’s on the inside that counts, but the outside should not be forgotten!

Add some mini ornaments or other funky, personalized goodies to enhance the bow.

{via Baraini Diva}

Add some texture with non-traditional ribbon such as yarn, raffia, fabric... the possibilities are endless!

{via Bugs and Fishes}

Or, spice things up by skipping a bow and creating a pattern and adding texture by weaving ribbon.

{via Martha Stewart}

Keeping with the concept of skipping a bow all together, how cute are these letter pressed buckles?!

{via d.Sharpe}

Lastly, check out some cute patterned containers or wrap a strip of ribbon or paper around a plain metal jar & treat it like a box! Don't you just love the toppers on this one?!

Happy wrapping!!

Custom... chocolate?

Happy Monday everyone! As you know, we are all about customization, but even we couldn't have predicted that the day would come when you could customize chocolate bars! When we found out about Chocomize, it was an overwhelming joy, to say the least. Here's how it works:

1. Select the chocolate: White, Milk or Dark

2. Choose the ingredients: candy, spices, nuts, fruit or seasonal sprinkles - up to 5! There are so many fun options to choose from, it was hard to even pick these to show you! {And believe it or not, Strawberry Gushers was one of the options...!}

3. Name your chocolate bar and check out! It's mailed to you in a cute festive box, surrounded by cold packs just to make sure it's as perfect as you intended for it to be.

What a fun idea for special stocking stuffers, hostess gifts or even wedding favors! Chocomize can help you add an edible image {even a monogram or custom logo!} and they even give a wedding discount.

Oh how we love custom work! Especially this kind. Be sure and share with us your ideal chocolate bar below!
