Seersucker love

For as long as I {Anna} can remember, seersucker has been one of my favorite fabrics. Yes, I have "favorite fabrics"... this happens when you study textiles in college. Moving to New England was one of the best things this girl could have done {short of moving to the south} to be surrounded by more seersucker. While a good seersucker sun dress is a necessity to keep cool & uber preppy during the summer, we're kind of digging the idea of reeling this fabulous fabric into a wedding. It's bright colors paired with a subtle pattern & texture provide some pretty stinkin' adorable ideas if we do say so...

Artist Inspiration: Emily Green

Sometimes other artists inspire us and on this glorious Monday, we're excited to spotlight Melbourne artist, Emily Green. We've fallen for her bright, funky paintings, watercolor scarves & especially her statement jewelry...

With each bead being handmade, no two pieces are identical... which adds to the charm of her work, don't you think? Check out her website for more goodies and let us know what you think! Love it? Hate it? Does it inspire you??

A reason to smile

It's Friday and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty pumped for the weekend. This week just flew by for us at Paper Moss. We've been chugging venti americanos, over-using the phrase "carpe diem", sorting through tons of GORGEOUS new stationery {and loving every second of it!!!}... but some days to catch our breath are much needed. :) What fun things do you have planned this weekend? Whatever it may be, we hope that you feel loved, appreciated and inspired in many ways. And to kick off the weekend, we wanted to remind you that...

{via}

Because it's true!! And we can never be reminded too much of things such as this. :) Happy Weekending, pretties!

Kitchen Crush

We've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately... and I mean a LOT of time. Aside from inspiring us to further develop the culinary skills we wish we had, this quality kitchen time has caused us to realize how much we want to brighten up our experience. Recently perusing some registry lists for friends may have led to us peeking and planning for the brightest kitchen possible... and aside from the Kitchenaid, everything else could be easily interchanged if you get tired of the color palette! What do you think? Too much color??

Sea glass

One of our absolute FAVORITE color palettes for weddings this year is "sea glass". Fresh, soft and delicate... but not too feminine, which keeps those grooms happy. :) As of late, we've been submersed in all things glassy, mint, aqua, celadon and shimmery while tapping into this palette to design a current client's wedding stationery. We can't wait to share more once it's finished of course, but until then, please enjoy some of our inspiration...

Oh China!

Some days just require a little fancy flair to spice things up. This Monday is one of those days so we're filling up the french press with our favorite local roast {longingly dreaming of Cafe Vita Coffee- from Seattle} and sipping this newfound brew in fine china. Ah yes, this is one of the greatest ways to start a week that will be nothing short of conquered!!!

Something you might not know about me {Anna} is that for most of my adult life, one of my favorite sources of inspiration is scouring antique stores for vintage pieces. Any other antique fanatics out there?? You guys know the epic charge that I'm talking about, right? There is something so unique and romantic about finding that perfect piece, designed decades before by someone who caught inspiration from their culture & daily life. Truth be told, this fascination started when the mother of an ex-boyfriend rolled out her phenomenal collection of vintage cups & saucers- in an array of florals, bright colors, shapes and sizes. Each delicate, detailed piece was gifted to her by different friends and family at her bridal shower. LOVE that idea!! And to clarify, are we reminiscing about the ex? No. We're definitely only paying tribute to this fabulous mode of inspiration & one adorable idea for a bridal shower. :)

Party in the park

After a long & busy week, I {Anna} am just bursting with excitement over a birthday party picnic that a friend and I are hosting for another one of our lovely ladies. Selfishly, this is kicking off one of my goals for this spring & summer: to picnic more! So while I'm prepping for tonight's festivities, I wanted to share some picnic inspiration {as if the Miu Miu slingbacks weren't enough!} in case you feel compelled to join in this goal! If so & you'll be in New England, can we pretty please plan a picnic date soon?!?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Fresh fruit decor

With so many bright and fresh colors being seen in weddings these days, we're loving the idea of using fruit to add those pops of color! How fun and easy is it to pop over to your local market and pick up a case of lemons or oranges for escort cards?! Or even using fruit as a snack or take away for guests? As much as we love snacking on sugary sweet things, fruit would be just as fun!

{Clockwise from top left: via/via/via/via/via/via/via}

What do you think... would you use fruit to freshen things up on your big day? What kind of fruit would best accent your color palette?

Tuesday Shoesday: picnic chic

I don't know about you, but springtime equals picnic time in our book. Now that the warm weather is upon us, we're just dying for any excuse to pack up some snacks & dine atop a blanket in the fresh air. These Miu Miu Slingback Pumps can't help but to make us dream of the most chic of picnics...

{via}

While there is NO WAY that a lady in her right mind would don these saucy stilettos for such an occasion {who wants to ruin Miu Miu heels in the grass?!} the pretty plaid brings back butterflies & sweet memories of warm weather picnics. Just in case you can't resist these heels, they're available at Neiman Marcus!

Happy Shoesday, everyone!

Raspberry Mojito Love

Ohhhhh Friday... what are we to do?! Not sure about you, but this week has been quite the busy one for us at Paper Moss. I personally am so excited to relax, finally see the Hunger Games and enjoy some much needed R & R. Part of the weekend ritual will definitely include sipping on a refreshing cocktail... and this week, my eyes have been set on the Raspberry Mojito that Lena featured over on A Crimson Kiss a few weeks back. You must become a regular on her blog- not only does the lady have the GREATEST cocktail recipes, but she is just the sweetest thing and is pumped full of gorgeous wedding inspiration! Without further adieu, meet the Raspberry Mojito:

Delicious and soooo simple:

1 1/2 oz of white rum 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice 3 sprigs of fresh mint 2 teaspoons of sugar 8 raspberries soda water

Have a fabulous weekend, pretties!!

Wedding decor: bottles + jars

Dreaming up wedding decor ideas can be pretty overwhelming... there are way too many fun ideas! Lately, we're loving the idea of mixing various bottles and jars {especially when they vary in shape and/or color} and using them as centerpieces, place settings, favors, aisle decorations and our personal favorite- hanging vases!

{clockwise from top left: via; via; via; via; via}

Often popping just one or two flowers in each bottle will suffice so rather than putting your money into flowers {beautiful & sweet smelling as they are, they will die} you can highlight those pops of color with romantic glass which will sparkle against candle light at night. Scour second hand stores, antique stores and ask your friends to set aside any glass jars they run into. After the big day is over, you'll have your choice of which vases you want to keep and the others can simply be given away or recycled.

Oh my Guinness!

It's FRIDAY!!! No, not just any ordinary Friday... the one before St. Patrick's Day! Growing up this holiday was always recognized {who want's to get pinched for not wearing green? Not I.} but it wasn't truly celebrated like it is here in Boston. All the festivities are unreal- the annual parade, the St. Patty's Day 5K in Southie, bars flooded with people covered head to toe in green, even morning drinking! No, this is not a holiday for the kids anymore and while many people in our beloved city aren't so concerned with "keeping it classy", we wanted to highlight some of our favorite classy ways to celebrate the day. This brings us to...desserts. Obviously desserts are classy, especially when they involve Guinness. :)

{Guinness Pudding} {Guinness Float} {Guinness Cake}

Let us know if you try out one of these delicious recipes this weekend! Happy St. Patty's Day!

Wedding whimsy

With pastels being one of the top 5 fashion trends of spring 2012, we've been encountering pastels left and right lately. It got us thinking, and as we've been perusing other blogs and Pinterest for inspiration, our suspicions were confirmed that an all-pastel wedding might just create the perfect romantic & whimsical feeling. Imagine pulling together all your favorite colors- in their softest tones of course, and accenting with warm, glowing lights, flowing fabrics, and deliciously coordinating treats...

{Clockwise from top left: via/ via/ via/ via/ via/ via}

Indeed, a recipe for some soft & timeless wedding whimsy!

Being beautiful

Just the other day I {Anna} was reminded of one of my favorite quotes from the darling, Audrey Hepburn, and I just had to share:

{via}

This world is full of so many things telling us that we're not good enough, not thin enough, not pretty enough, don't have enough... and truly, it's all LIES!! After a long week, I hope that you feel every bit strong, beautiful and treasured. If not, I'm sorry! Ponder these words this weekend and do something to celebrate YOU. :)

Happy Friday, pretties!

Let it sparkle

Hi pretties!! Did you have an enjoyable weekend? Hopefully you're well rested and excited to carpe diem... for the next 7 days. Since Mondays can be tough we decided that a little dose of soft blush sparkly inspiration was in order... enjoy!

Wedding Inspiration: Fiery Ombre

Yes, Valentine's Day has long passed but we're still obsessing over the monochromatic wedding color palette of pinks, reds and purple. How great is it that these warm to cool ombre tones are no longer solely associated with that one day each year, but yet when put together they create a firey, romantic glow that would be perfect for the big day. And the best part? While there's without a doubt a romantic vibe, things are still light and fun... not over the top! What do you think- would you ever consider this palette {or an ombre spin on your own palette} for your wedding?

The 1st Anniversary

Tradition points to a paper related gift for a 1-year wedding anniversary... well, needless to say for us paper lovers, this is great news! Paper is said to symbolize strength as well as delicate nature of a one-year old marriage. Whether you're in to the symbolism or following that particular tradition, we've fallen for this sentimental anniversary gift ( or Valentines Day present... hint, hint!) from Suzy Shoppe.

They will incorporate a love letter, wedding vows or sentimental song lyrics to make this piece of art an expression of the couple. And if you're in wedding planning mode, fear not because Suzy Shoppe also offers an adorable option for a guest "book"!

DIY: Perfect Pillows

Oh Monday, what shall we do with you? Oy, that was a rough game for those of us rooting for the Pats- did you catch it? This next week {at the least} will be a somber one in New England. What's better to cheer up the blues but a little crafting time? After recently coming to terms with the fact that I have major throw pillow obsession of mine in full force, I cast aside all cares and continue to crush on this spunky, customizable cushion that was originally spotted on Whit and Whistle.

OBSESSED. Can you imagine the possibilities? Quotes, a favorite Bible verse, a wedding vow...? Such a sentimental addition to any home and what a sweet gift this would be!!

For the home

Happy Friday! To wrap up our week of obsessing over geometric patterns, we figured it would only make sense to highlight some fun ways to incorporate new patterns into your home! If you're normally a little pattern shy, sticking to a neutral palette or something classic like black & white is a good place to start. Here are some things on our wish list for the home:

1: Headboard via West Elm

2: Rug via Layla Grace

3: Mirror via Jonathan Adler

4: Room divider via Layla Grace

5: Chair via Urban Outfitters

6: Throw pillows via Jonathan Adler

7: Lamp via Layla Grace

So fun, right? Happy decorating!
