Plum Royalty

There is something about Louis Vuitton that just exudes luxury. Pairing that already luxurious brand with purple {the color of royalty} takes it to a whole new level... and we're just screaming over this metallic plum bag. Ah!!! Gorgeous for all seasons, right?

Oh and how equally CHARMING is this bracelet?! LOVE!!

Vintage-Preppy Sophistication

There is something so crisp, classic, sophisticated & fun about incorporating bold black & white stripes into a wedding. We put together this little inspiration board to harness the vision of using "black & white stripes" as one of the colors in a palate paired with pops of bold colors and pale pink. These colors happened to perfectly encapsulate the classic vintage and preppy vibe that we were aiming for. Don't you just adore the elegance that this conveys?!

Show some appreciation

What better day to take a moment for some good old shoe appreciation than today? We found this to be the perfect opportunity to share a super cute shoe chart that we ran across and have been obsessing over lately. Yes, it's true that every shoe style has a name so give this chart a once over for a refresher {or time to plan your attack}, then head to the shoe store!!

Happy Tuesday Shoesday, loves!

Fall fell this weekend

Fall is officially here and to mark the start of the season {AKA: the fall of Fall}, we each partook in some "festive" activities this past weekend. In true celebratory form, Emily and some of our friends gallivanted at the apple orchard, enjoying the abnormally hot temperatures we had, munching on apple cider doughnuts and of course, they managed to fit in an impromptu harmonica dance session. I {Anna} however, was on the other spectrum of "festive" activities and had the annual stuffy head-hearing-loss, blowing my nose every 5 minutes and watching way too much television type of fall weekend. Yes, it was full of Emergen-C, soup and Kleenex. On the bright side, I get to enjoy fresh, sweet apples without the effort of picking them myself!! Naturally, while sitting at home I started thinking about what delicious seasonal treat I want to make...while recipe surfing, I came across this Caramel Apple Cake:

{via}

... and OMG, I'm thoroughly convinced that it will be the best thing I've ever baked. Join me in trying this ahhh-mazing seasonal treat? Perfect for a dinner party with friends or a fall birthday celebration!

Just do it

It's been one of those weeks... ya know? One of thoooose weeks. Yeah we're slightly happier than usual to see the word Friday on our calendar today and are raring to go for the weekend! As the final hours of this work week depart, we leave you with some scandalous words of wisdom to inspire some weekend creativity.

Marilyn knows best, right?! One of our favorite ways to be a little ridiculous is to wear party dresses just for fun- you don't need an occasion to rock it! How ridiculously gorgeous is this gown? Though it's a wee bit dressier than what we would typically wear, it drives home the point beautifully.

{via}

Be a little ridiculous this weekend... think outside of the box! Whatever you do, smile a lot! xo

Good fortune

Everyone knows that those little fortunes we get in cookies are disappointingly, mass-produced. If you've ever scored the same fortune more than once, you know the feeling first hand- it's just short of devastating. Oh the self control it's taken to refrain from asking for another one... after all, how else are we supposed to know what life holds?! Anyway, we found a loophole! These adorable little Fortune Cookie coin purses are NOT mass produced and although you're paying $65 for the fortune, you get a delicious coin purse made of recycled leather!!! Win, win!

They're a bit kitschy, but we love them! Oh and a cool FYI: Each purse has a little number on it so you can track where it's leather came from.

The best numbers

It's Wedding Wednesday!!! Today we couldn't possibly be more excited to share some of our favorite table number ideas to inspire some thinking outside of the box when pulling together those wedding plans. There are so many fun ways to tie a wedding theme together and some of the following ideas are just adorable additions to a centerpiece! What is the most unique table number that you've ever seen??

You call the shots

The ability to customize things is high up on our list of loves- this probably goes without saying! These ethereal wedding shoes from Freya Rose are the epitome of elegance... and when we learned that this British company customizes wedding shoes, it was even more confirmation that these shoes are just our type!

Ruffles + Roses

Happy Monday! With Fall on the way, we're desperately thinking of ways to be warm and cuddly through the chilly weather. Over the weekend, when we stumbled across these super cute rose- sweater pillows from Angella Eisman Design, it was love at first sight! How fun would these be to accompany your couch or adorn your bed.... and what a lovely gift idea too?!

Dare we try to D.I.Y these? I suppose some things are better left to professionals... :)

It's time!

It’s FRIDAY and indeed a day of celebration!! On this fabulous 16th day of September, not only are we are celebrating the birthdays of some dear friends… but we're also celebrating the nuptials of my {Anna’s} big brother and soon to be sister-in-law! This day has been slowly approaching and since they got engaged we’ve enjoyed sharing their e-session and crushed on and gushed over their fun fall grey, coral & peach color palette. We figured that today it is only appropriate to share their invitation suite!

Thank you to Hello Love Photography for taking these fun photos of their invitation suite!

Have a great weekend, everybody!!

Initial here, please

It seems rare anymore that a wedding cake would be topped with the old-school miniature plastic bride and groom.... seriously, when is the last time you saw one of those?! There are so many fun ideas for wedding cake toppers and these days it's all about personalizing every detail! We ran across this D.I.Y Glitter Monogram topper from Ruffled and instantly fell in love!

{via}

If you're not in the market for a cake topper, there has got to be SOMETHING you can use this D.I.Y for... it's just SO CUTE! :) To get the details on the details on the "how to" go here.

We're absolutely loving the trend of 1920's design elements that are seeping into the wedding industry. We recently had the opportunity to put our heads together with some other awesome wedding vendors for a styled shoot that is off the charts beautiful, in our opinion! :) Junebug Weddings agreed and we're excited to see the shoot featured on their blog! Get a load of some vintage inspiration, from clothing & makeup to stationery and the band!

And we'd be absolutely crazy to not share these beautiful photos of the invitation suite, shot by Magnolia Pair!

Will you be suede?

It's ALL over the fashion mags & blogs these days- bright & rich shades of suede. Will you succumb to the upcoming Fall trend? Once we get past the possibility of the rain ruining these pretty suedes, it seems like a pretty good idea. Perfect to pair with your LBD or with skinnys and a smart sweater!

A Rendez-vous to Remember

This last weekend we joined in the fun & hoopla of a "Blogger Meet Up" organized by our friends Alison of Long Distance Loving and Jillian of Cornflake Dreams. It was such a wonderful weekend being surrounded by such creative and inspiring people whom we've blog crushed on from afar.

Well, part of this weekend extravaganza included things such as a CHOCOLATE TOUR {if you're a New Englander, this is a Boston activity that should be on the "must-do" list}, some yummy cocktails and even some super fun giveaways! Truth be told, we didn't win any of the giveaways {BOOOO!} however as a product of someone else's win, we have a new-found love, better known as The Bauble Bar. A woman can never have too many bracelets, right? Here's just a tiny sample of the gorgeousness that awaits...

{via}

Apparently we're on the slow boat because they've graced the pages of InStyle Magazine AND even Justin Bieber has been spotted sporting one of their Baubles! If the Biebs is doing it, my question to you is: What are we waiting for?! Guess it's high time we join in the fun!

A little goes a long way

Well lovlies, we made it to Friday yet again! These short weeks just sneak by so quickly!! What fun things do you have planned for the weekend? The other day, we came across some sweet "common courtesies" on Emily Post and it got us thinking. It's easy to get so busy throughout the week and at times we forget how true this is:

undefined

{via}

Emily Post reminds us that the best way to show your appreciation for someone is by doing something unexpected, thoughtful and kind. These "common courtesies" are an easy place to start:

  • Say “Have a good morning” to the server who’s been pouring cups of coffee since 5 a.m.
  • Help your son or daughter pick flowers {from your garden, of course} to give to his or her teacher.
  • Want to thank your grandma for the sweater she sent you? Put that digital camera to good use and show her how really great it looks on you.
  • And last but not least, SMILE! Make it a habit to show your appreciation and make others feel good by flashing those pearly whites. It’s a simple gesture, but it can have the greatest impact of all.

It's amazing how far these common courtesies go! With that etiquette inspiration, we send you off into the weekend! May it be full of fun & relaxation with those you love the most! :)

Not Just for Bowlers

Somewhere along the way, red became a versatile color and THANK GOODNESS for that because in the chilly months, one can get sick of only seeing black, grey, brown and navy everywhere they turn. This deep red Roadside Companion Bowler Bag is the perfect balance of boho & vintage yet has a polished look. The perfect size for lugging around all your necessities AND have room for an umbrella, gloves, hand warmers and a hat. Too soon to be uttering these words?? A girl can plan, right? :)

All that glitters

Can you believe it's Wednesday already?! These short weeks just FLY by! A few weeks ago, we were confronted with this question: Can "metallic" be a color scheme for a wedding? This caused us to do some digging {see below} and now without a shadow of a doubt, we believe that it could be a gorgeous elegant fall or winter color palette. We're just loving the cool silvers and pewter alongside warm bronze and glittery golds... not to mention that the lighting would totally set the tone and create an ultra-romantic ambience!!

Have you ever been to a metallic wedding?? Would you ever choose this as your color palette? We're dying to know your thoughts!

A Sign of the Times

Happy Tuesday Shoesday, all! We hope you had a lovely looooong holiday weekend! You know, it's a sign of the times when Starbucks brings out their Pumpkin Spice latte. Yes, that means that Autumn is upon us... and well, rumor has it that those tasty little beverages have already arrived in select stores! We're actually kind of excited for the crisp mornings & fall colors to roll in. We realize however that it's crucial to soak up any and every chance to wear cute shoes before the rotation of rain boots to snow boots begins.

We're crushing on this pair of taupe and blue-grey peep toe booties from Juicy Couture. Perfect for some Fall fun, right?

The Art of The Cart

Who would have thought that bringing back the trend of a bar cart could be so enticing? The gals from Society Social make it mindless to fall for these spunky, fashionable carts... we think you'll agree. What a fun way to fancify your dining room or easily create a chic entertaining area in another part of your home!

undefined

{via}

These adorable carts come in several styles and pretty much every color of the rainbow so you can coordinate or contrast in just the right way. And if you'd like swoon-worthy seating to accompany the cart...

{via}

Heavens!! How cute would those be around a dining room table?! We also pulled together some of our fave stylish bar necessities to complete the look...

1. OBSESSING over these 1920's style cocktail glasses from Glasses from Crate & Barrel.

2. A cocktail shaker such as this one is a must.

3. This beautiful cocktail book provides 200 delicious concoctions {divided into sections based on liquor} along with witty commentary such as, "Gin: If gin had a wardrobe, it would be full of pleated skirts and ruffled shirts, lots of tweed and brooches."

How can you resist this fun re-birth of an old-school trend?? Happy Friday, lovelies!
