The happiest decoration of all

Pinwheels have got to be the happiest decoration we've ever seen. They seem to make everything better with their colorful, playful shape spinning in the wind. Lately we've seen a few ways to incorporate pinwheels into weddings {or other events} and we couldn't resist sharing such cute ideas! Though time consuming to make them, this can be a super cost effective decoration and depending on the style of the wedding it could be a great way to repurpose old books, magazines and bags.

Now that our wheels are spinning {pun intended}, we can't stop thinking of ways to incorporate pinwheels into daily life! Any and all ideas are welcome!!

A snowy Colorado wedding: Alison & David

Even in the midst of a scorching summer we mustn't forget those who are planning a winter wedding. This seemed like the perfect time to share Alison and David's stunning wedding that took place in Durango, Colorado. Their day was filled to the brim with fun, romance, sentimental details... and laced with rustic goodness. Josh Durias Photography {based in Washington state} did an incredible job at capturing the love these two share!!
Ali and David decided to make a Chuppa to symbolize God being over their union and the sides being open to represent community entering in both to their home and their lives as a married couple. What a beautiful symbol and the one they constructed was a perfect compliment to the rest of their decor!
Venue: The Glacier Club in Durango, Colorado

Pretty purple!

After recently finishing some gorgeous Save the Dates for one of our international clients, we just keep coming back to their pretty purple color palette. We've been loving all the shades and just CAN'T GET ENOUGH! Seriously, what a perfect way to transition from summer {with a light shimmery lilac} to fall {with a spunky reddish plum}?

What shade of purple has been captivating you lately?

Well suited

If your man is in the market for a new suit {whether it be for your wedding, another wedding or a job interview} you simply can't miss these words of wisdom! Especially when it comes to the wedding party, the last thing you want is photos of the groomsmen in ill fitting attire. Of course, if the guys are renting a tux this won't be an issue, but it's becoming more and more common now for them to buy their suits. So, listen up on what Emily Post has to say about suit shopping: 1. Go to an established men's store where trained professionals are on staff. These experts are more knowledgeable about make, style, cut, and fit than most of us can ever hope to be. They can teach you the different between traditional, European, and athletic styles and which will work best for you. Yes, even if they're donning an all seersucker suit!

{via}

2. You should be aware of the following fit issues:

  • If it feels too tight, it probably is. You should be able to fit the flat of your hand in between your chest and the front of the jacket when buttoned and the back vents should lay flat.
  • If it feels a little big, it can probably be tailored: men's suits can often be taken in a full size.
  • Trousers should fit at the waist (one finger inside the waistband) so you have room when you sit.

{via}

3. The correct jacket length? Stand with your arms hanging naturally at your sides. The jacket should hit just under the curve of your derriere.

{via}

4. The sleeve of the jacket should hit where your wrist bends so that your shirt can poke out 1/8" to 1/4". {This guy knows what's up.}

{via}

5. Trousers: a "full break" is the bottom of the pant altered to hit 1" above the floor. Pleated trousers should have cuffs.

Happy suiting!

Put on your dancing shoes

Here's one for all those brides who are planning to party down at their wedding! Reserve a pair of these little gems so you can slip out of your Louboutin's and into your dancing shoes... undefined

"Every woman should own three pairs of shoes- high heels, flat shoes and Havaianas."

AND why would Havaianas pass up a chance for customization?? Yes, the geniuses behind this company also allow you to Make Your Own flip flops... heaven help us!

Y'all ready for this?

Happy Monday! Hopefully the weekend pumped you all full of rest, yummy food and lots of smiles. We've been pondering these words of wisdom from Mr. Ralph Waldo Emerson and figured it was just the thing to inspire a great start to another busy week.

With that being said, we hope you have a very ENTHUSIASTIC week! :)

Keep it cool

Oh sweet surrender, we're having a heat wave here in Boston! What is going on with this crazy weather?! Today is supposed to be up to 100 degrees and "feel like" 110. All we can possibly think to do is cling to anything with air conditioning and have a diet consisting solely of iced coffee and popsicles. In order to prevent over-dosing on one type of popsicle, we deemed it appropriate to try a few new recipes. Want to join us??

Are there any amazing recipes for frozen pops that we're missing out on? Don't hesitate to share!! :) Hope you're staying cool on this hot Friday!

Wish you were here

All summer we've been on the search for the perfect textured tote that can tag along to the beach, go to the SoWa Sunday market or even fit for a casual dinner with friends. I think we've found it! The Wish You Were Here Tote {at under $50} fits all of the criteria- and mom would be so happy to know that it even zips shut at the top. You can never be too cautious, right?

As we were dreaming up the possibilities with said bag, we realized just how adorable it would be with the safari-inspired look that's been popping up all summer.

Now you're all ready for a safari! Ok, well maybe the attire isn't actually safari- appropriate, but if you decide to go on one, you'll be lookin' hot while making those travel arrangements!!

Brighten up

After being in 9 weddings, we're always on the search for cute bridesmaids dresses- it's now engrained in us. Whether bridesmaid-to-be or bride-to-be, it's always good to know your options. We're in L.O.V.E. with these new pops of color by Alfred Sung and just had to share! They would make such fun party dresses too!

Which one is your favorite? Some of them even come if white if you're on the lookout for a

reception or getaway dress...

A delicious Boston tradition

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? After a few days off, we're feeling rested and rearing to conquer all that awaits! Well, sort of... Last night marked the end of a 5 day staycation with some west coast guests who came to tour Boston. One thing that always works into conversations with visitors is Boston Cream Pie. Although this infamous dessert originated at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, I must say that after recently trying it there, their recipe didn't do justice to how it has evolved through the years.

It got us thinking: how cute would it be to make mini- Boston Cream Pies?! Well, here's one for the recipe box friends. Pastry chef, Penny Stankiewicz let us in on her recipe {via Design Sponge} and these little beauties are perfect for a dinner party, birthday party, holiday or a perfectly plain Monday night! Love the new spin on this old tradition!

A Titanic inspired wedding

Few things brighten our day as much as hearing that our paper has been featured in a blog {or magazine} that we absolutely adore. It's a moment of sheer childish giddiness and we want to put it on the metaphorical refrigerator for all to see!! Apparently, this blog is our refrigerator... It was such a joy working with some of our favorite DC based vendors on this Titanic inspired shoot that was recently featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs. Hop over and see the rest of this vintage gorgeousness! :)

Coral & Smoky gray: the perfect palette between summer & fall

I'm ecstatic to share that we {Paper Moss} just mailed off a gorgeous, elegant & modern smoky gray and coral invitation suite to a beaming bride and her fiancé. Yes, that beaming bride happens to be my {Anna's} soon-to-be sister in law and that fiancé of hers happens to be one of the greatest older brothers to walk this earth. :) I'm biased & completely blessed!! Take a gander at the color palette for their September day... a perfect combination to transition out of summer & into fall! undefined

You better believe that we'll be sharing photos of the invites {once they're sent out, of course} and photos of the wedding. :) Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Be Poetic

While going through the shoe closet the other day, I realized that there are several pairs that have been neglected. It would be SO much FUN to compulsively run to Saks with our current "must have" shoe list, however my wallet and sense of reason led me to think otherwise. So alas, what better way to revitalize a pair of flats or heels than to add one of these cute shoe clips by B.Poetic?! They add the perfect pop of color & style to that plain pair that's been shoved in the corner a little too long.
