Soft + feminine

I must admit that when I first laid eyes on these soft pink beauties, I was brought back to my visions of my wedding as a little girl. These surely would have been the dream shoes... and though being super girly isn't necessarily our thing, these might still be considered timeless. What do you think??

With all of the fuss from these voluminous tulle rosettes, we've got tulle on the mind and are so thankful that it has made a classy comeback. There are so many whimsical, romantic ideas for how to incorporate this sheer fabric into a wedding or reception... here's a wee bit of inspiration to get those wheels turning...

Fall faves!

Since moving into New England, fall is pulling rank and could possibly be considered our favorite season. As we finish off October, there are a few things that we're looking forward to for the latter half/ colder half of autumn. We'll share our list with YOU, but we're also dying to know what you're most looking forward to... :)

{1} Feasting on Pumpkin Ricotta Gnocchi

{2} Crafting Monogrammed pumpkins for a festive little decoration

{3} Crunching brightly colored fall leaves

{4} Cozying up in a warm, chunky blanket

{5} Sipping on the occasional Spiked Cider

{6} Hosting festive get-together... and seizing the chance for a seasonal table scape

Real Weddings: Arianne + Spencer

In the rush of getting ready on the big day, many couples loose time to capture the fun that is had with their dearest friends: the bridal party. We're absolutely head over heels for Arianne & Spencer's wedding photos and today, for this reason, are so excited to share some awesome shots from their little pre-ceremony adventure. Seattle based Ryan Flynn Photography fabulously captured the funky Seattle vibe, as well as the personality of this gorgeous couple...

I'm kind of obsessed with these!!! You've got to see more from their big day {here}... HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Simple + Elegant Save the Dates

One of my favorite things about doing custom design is getting to know our clients. Building relationships and friendships with them through their wedding planning process is so unique... it leaves us nervously giddy when the wedding day comes and consequently, emotional when months later, the links to wedding photos pop up. Sabrina and Greg are a prime example and just the other day while looking at how their vision came together, I was overtaken by emotion & gratitude that we got to participate in bringing it to life. More info on their beautiful day is to come, but for now, take a peek at their stunningly elegant letterpress Save the Dates!!

Spice it up with Black & White

Today's Tuesday Shoesday is a modern spin on a classic color combo. With all of the bright & bold colors trending this fall, you can't go wrong with some printed black & white shoes to play up the pattern or add texture without being over-kill. What kicks are on your shopping list for this season?? Any black & white beauties?

DIY: Pretty pumpkins

Hey friends! How was your weekend? Did you have a chance to do something super festive? In the midst of fighting off this darn cold, we took advantage of the gorgeous weather on Saturday and drove up north to explore Rockport. While the intention of this excursion wasn't to go leaf peeping, it was impossible not to be captivated by all of the firey colors that lined the highways and accented this cute little beach town. Fall in New England is simply the best. :) Now that some serious autumn inspiration was ignited over the weekend, it's time to tackle the first DIY of the season:

{via}

Completely adorable, right?! Get the "how-to" over on Twig & Thistle and spice up your fall decor! Happy crafting!

For all that ails you

Now that Friday is upon us, we're super bummed to admit that round 2 for Fall colds is upon us. Ugh. I fear this will be a weekend of sweats, tissues, movies and warm bevs to soothe the throat. The silver lining however, is that THIS is the prime time to craft one of our all time favorite cold-soothing cocktails... a hot toddy.

If you too are suffering from the Fall cold, follow these directions and drink up! Hopefully you're feeling fabulous though and have super fun plans for the weekend. We'll assume that's the case. ;)

Happy Friday!

Monogram that!

I'm not sure if you know, but we have this little obsession with monograms. Creating custom monograms for our clients is a complete joy and when we see them pressed into cotton paper with letterpress or foil printing, it's simply exhilarating. ;) Yes, we're easily amused, but that's ok. Anyway, we're pretty much adoring these customizable jewel toned travel wallets from Neiman Marcus and the gold lettering is just the cherry on top!

What a sweet gift idea too, don't you think?

White wedding

Our time in New York was a blast, but we're so glad to be back in Boston! On Monday night we had the chance to get all fancified & go to The Knot's bridal gala as well as the 11th Annual Martha Stewart bridal market party. Both parties were so fun and we're humbled at the chance to go and be able to network with some of our wedding industry heroes! Nerdy? Absolutely. :) We're still crushing over the all white theme that Martha's staff used to transform the blank canvas of their warehouse. The highlight of the night? A surprise wedding was performed by Martha Stewart herself... and we just loved all of the clean, crisp white details that made the bride & groom glow. So this begs the question- what do you think of an all white wedding?

Fabulously Flat

After pounding the pavement in the Big Apple for the last couple of days, we're REALLY ready to embrace some comfy flats. These glittery kicks are not only the perfect way to add some spunk to a simple outfit, but they're only $20!! Insanity, I know!

Being in our late 20's, Delia*s isn't exactly the first place we'd think to shop, but in the name of Shoesday, we'll make an exception. Join us? :)

Linking up

While we're soaking up every bit of inspiration & fun here at Bridal Market in NYC, we mustn't neglect the importance of sharing these super cute Etsy cuff link finds with you. They're absolute perfection for a rustic chic wedding, don't you agree? Now to convince the groom and his bros to go with french cuffs...

Bridal Market 2012

What a fabulous week it has been! We're packing up and heading to New York for Bridal Market this weekend and really, truly, it's almost as exciting as Christmas. To kick off the festivities, Emily will be fashion show hopping to see several of our favorite bridal gown designers {ie, Amsale, Christos, Kenneth Pool} and their latest collections. This will indeed be a weekend filled with inspiration! Since we're stirring & giddy for tomorrow, we figured it is only appropriate to pay homage to these designers and highlight some of their gorgeous gowns!

Colorblocking is the new black

When we caught wind that brights are the new neutral, it was elating to say the least. :) I mean seriously, we spent the first quarter of our lives stocking up on black, grey... and the occasional pop of brown and it's high time to spice things up. For their winter/ fall collection, Coach brought back some 1960's inspiration and released the Colorblock Legacy collection. Oh and are we ever glad that they did...

{1} Slim Envelope $228

{2} Leather Flap Carryall $498

{3} Medium Skinny coin purse $78

{4} Large Clutch $168

Have you sported the colorblock trend yet? Would you rather have a classic piece like these Coach beauties or something priced for trending such as these crossbody bags?

Sparkle & shine

It's amazing how much a little bling can brighten one's day! If you're newly engaged, you know what we mean... staring down at that sparkly little thing on your left hand brings butterflies like nothing else. Whatever size, shape or color of stone you fancy, it never seems to get old looking at pretty rings. Case and point:

{via}

What was {or is} your ideal ring?? Have a sparkly day!

Dancin' shoes

Sometimes a little sparkle goes a long way. When done right however, it can make quite the statement. While mocking up a glitter paper envelope liner just the other day, we recalled this shoe shot seen on Style Me Pretty. How phenominal are these Jimmy Choo's?!

The perfect balance of spunk & class... these would certainly be ideal dancin' shoes, don't you agree?

So much seaglass

Happy Monday and HAPPY Columbus Day! How was your weekend? If you're enjoying a 3-day, we hope you're off doing something super fun. Today, we get to share a stunning invitation suite that we created with Courtney & Jason. Their wedding took place a few short weeks ago at the amazing Ocean House, which you may know that we're obsessed with. :) Courtney came to us with a sincere appreciation for letterpress and inspiration derived from sea glass. We love the soft & elegant outcome of their pattern, not to mention the double thick paper, letterpressed backing on the invitation AND the envelope liner with their sweet quote on it. Gah!!

Indeed, the perfect way to set the tone for Courtney & Jason's black tie event. More on that to come at a later time... ;) for now, enjoy!

This weekend

Today is a day that we've been waiting for for what seems like an eternity. Wedding festivities for this precious couple begin tonight and people {myself included} are heading to San Diego from all over the world to celebrate their marriage. While our blog usually focuses on all things that inspire designs, today we just want to be corny and admit that sometimes good, old fashioned love & friendship is one of the greatest sources of inspiration. So in honor of Jasmine & Alex, we wanted to share this AMAZING photo from their e-session by Mikhail Glabets Photography! How cool is this?!

{via}

Whatever this weekend holds for you, we hope you're surrounded by love & friendship... and more importantly, we hope you forgive us for being so corny. :)

Amanda Pearl

Today, our purseday pick is a shout out to a Seattle native, Amanda Pearl who has built quite the brand for her luxury evening bags. With previous experience designing for Marc Jacobs, she brings vintage fabrics, funky designs and unexpected materials to construct her ADORABLE clutches. We love that her designs are inspired by antique jewelry, modern art and the fashion and culture of the Fifties and Sixties!! Yes, they indeed have character...

Wedding inspiration: red + teal + gold

Happy Wedding Wednesday!! Today, we figured it's only appropriate to highlight this gorgeous Seattle wedding that perfectly balances the elegance and character of the city, while still reflecting the couple. With a dream team of local vendors, headed up by Solomon Event Planning, Marnie & Jamie put together the day of their dreams using teal, deep red, gold and lots of glowing lights. Though their celebration was on New Years eve, there was nothing overly "festive", which is one of the many reasons we adore it.

Everything about this wedding is timeless, yet still has loads of character. And how sweet is this umbrella?!
