Add some pizzaz

Gold is my absolute favorite neutral... yes, I consider it in the "neutral" category because it literally goes with EVERYTHING! This gold- confetti clutch is so stinkin' cute and the perfect way to add some pizzaz any time of the year.

Do you have a go-to clutch? My fave is currently a reddish-orange leather with gold hardware but I'm thinking it would behoove me to add one of these bad boys {or something of the like} to the handbag collection!

Manly flowers

Flowers. I've got flowers on the mind lately and I've been dreaming of luscious, soft & elegant bouquets for my big day. After talking with my man I realized his dislike of large, flowery boutonnieres so I've been scouring Pinterest and some of my favorite wedding blogs for inspiration to help narrow down the options for the manly portion of our floral. I would love to know if you have any ideas for early fall {September} wedding flowers in the northwest, but for now here are some of my picks:

Any fun and creative ideas for a manly, flowery variation?

Mint to be

In the next week or two, we're expecting a beautiful mint and gold invitation suite to come back from print. Seeing these preppy, classy designs evolve was SO FUN and it's got me thinking about this color combo a lot lately. While I wait in anticipation for this job to arrive at the Paper Moss office, it's only appropriate to share these cool, minty wedding shoes that are making me want them for my own! Enjoy these pretty peep toes for now and I'll certainly be sharing more about said stationery in the future!!

Bringing Pantone home

Those of us who are design nerds have a deep appreciation for Pantone- a universal color coding system. Not only are their little swatch chips cute and precisely the shade that we're looking for {there are thousands of colors, all with different undertones... it's glorious!} but they have done such a fabulous job at branding that years ago Pantone came out with accessories such as mugs & journals. Today friends, we celebrate that they came out with a home line!! Yes, it's available at jcp of all places but their stuff is so cute and colorful. Perhaps I'm biased but, let me know what you think:

Thank you to the dear friend of Paper Moss who brought this to our attention!!! This is so friggin exciting!! If you share in our excitement, please share with us which Pantone you'd like to see more of in your home!

Weekend inspiration

The weekend is upon us once again! After a whirlwind trip to Seattle for wedding planning, I've been getting cozied up in our new office and continuing to nest. Moving is always such a process!! This weekend is devoted to re-charging and getting caught up on "life". But here are some ways that we're going to make this weekend a little more fun:

Get hydrated

Everyone knows that you feel better, more energetic when hydrated. Try infusing fruit into your water to make it a little more exciting. I'm a huge fan of cucumber water, but also LOVE pineapple and watermelon flavored water too!

{via}

Get tied up

Lately I've been throwing my hair back in a messy pony or a bun, which is not very exciting, but is oh-so-practical when things get busy. Incorporating a scarf is such a fun way to add some sass to an otherwise ordinary 'do... give it a go!!

{via}

Don't forget your pops

Sunday is Father's day so don't forget to snag a fun card for dear old dad! We're obsessing over this one from Sycamore Street Press... well, for obvious reasons!

Happy Weekending!!

A loving little reminder

One thing that I'm learning as a soon-to-be Mrs. is that no matter how many decisions we have to make for the future, or how much wedding plans can stress me out {or seemingly take over}, the most important thing is to keep our eyes on the prize. The prize being a lifetime with my best friend... the most sincere, thoughtful, considerate, driven, trustworthy, romantic and hottest man I could ever imagine sharing life with. I could go on and on about all of the reasons that my guy makes my heart leap, but on this Wedding Wednesday, I'll instead encourage you to set wedding plans aside and remind your loved one of all the things that you adore about them.

 Life gets busy, but keep your eyes on the prize!

Gold rush

While juggling the tasks of wedding planning and preparation, one of the things that has seemed most daunting is registry for housewares. Where do we begin? Now we're supposed to put together a list of things that {hopefully} compliment each other, in effort to create our new home together. I've been living the single life for decades and have taken every opportunity to create a home consisting of all things feminine and elegant. As I start to think about nesting with my man, I'm determined to maintain a chic style, now paired with some sort of rustic manliness? Yea it sounds impossible, however I'm hoping that by incorporating bits of gold with simple colors and varying textures, we can make this happen... or at least come close. Here are a few ideas that got my wheels turning:

1- Triple Tiered Pendant Shade

2- Giant Dot Rug

3- LOVE sign

4- Gold shelf DIY

5- Sparkle Throw Pillow

6- Gold Dot Sheets

7- Studded Stacking Bowls

Those who have already been down this road, how have you found a happy medium?! Any tips?

Weekend Inspiration

Hey friends! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Is it just me or did this week seem like it was a month long?! I mean, it felt like a fabulous & productive month, but a month none the less. :) On to more fun things, what do you have planned for the weekend? Since I am heading to Seattle to dig into wedding plans, our weekend inspiration is appropriately laced with some hipster flavor.

Find some new tunes

Hit up the local record store and scour the shelves for new music! This was a regular occurrence when I lived in Seattle, but now I just miss it. Searching through old records, looking at the album art work and wondering the story behind each disk... it's all so inspiring! Give it a try!!

{via}

Chill out with some ice cream

Well it probably won't be hot in the pacific northwest, where I'm headed, HOWEVER there are some incredible ice cream shops that I've been dreaming of lately and will happily be visiting. Molly Moon's is first on the list and since you can't join me (unless you're in the greater Seattle area, in which case CALL ME!) you can check out the deliciousness on the pages of their recipe book, which can be found in your local Anthro store. Don't deprive yourself of joy: get your hands on a copy! And in case you're wondering, this is what I'll be eating...

Be adventurous

While the weather is nice, go soak up some sun, get some fresh air and enjoy the opportunity to relax!!

Happy weekending!

Spring essentials

There's nothing better than combining fun colors + textures to make a stellar outfit. This spring, we're loving natural materials like raffia, jute and hemp for lightweight, versatile handbags. Take this Raffia clutch for example... can you imagine the endless possibilities ranging from a casual run to the farmers market to a friend's warm evening wedding? Dress it up or down with other accessories and since it's a neutral color, you can play up your ensemble with brights & patterns for an instantly super chic piece! It's on our wish list for the season for sure!!

1. Starfish Enamel Earrings

2. J.Crew Lemlem Scarf

3. Nail polish in Primrose Hill Picnic

4. Raffia Clutch

The big shopping day

I'm not gonna lie... today is pretty stinking exciting because it's Wedding Wednesday and I get to post for the first time about my OWN wedding! After years of getting giddy with friends and clients over their big days, beautiful plans and gorgeous gowns, I'm giving it a go!! This weekend I'm heading to Seattle {my homeland} for venue visits, brainstorming sessions with some of my dearest lady friends and of course, dress shopping. Today, I've got dresses on my mind. Where does a girl begin with the dress shopping? First, I've been studying up on the 14 Must Read Gown Shopping Tips... obvs the title alone makes me feel like a fool not soaking that one in before we get started. Second, I've been perusing the pages of my copy of It's All About the Dress, just in case there is some life changing tips from dear Randy...

All of this "research" and I'm not going to lie: I'm vision-less, on a short time frame and getting pretty nervous. Current and previous brides, do you have any tips for this novice? Please pass along any wisdom or tips you may have!! :)

Sassy spring heels

Now that the nicer weather is upon us in Boston, I can't help but to feel that I'm suffering from a bit of a seasonal fashion crisis. How in the last nine months have I forgotten how to dress for warm weather?! My solution? People watching. Seriously, this is not only entertaining, but it challenges me to think outside of my normal "go-to's" for what to wear. I've been reminded that shoes can totally make or break an outfit. I'm pretty excited about getting to spice up a simple dress- or skinnies & a tank with some hot heels. Currently loving these ones from Sole Society:

Do you have a pair of spring statement shoes?

Monday updates

Hi friends! How was your weekend? I'm relieved to report that I survived the move into the new office and even started nesting a bit! So excited to share more details soon! That's just one of the exciting changes that's been happening around the Paper Moss office and TODAY, I'm excited to share another. :) Emily's hubby has been working his tail off and graduated with his MBA from Harvard over the weekend... what a rockstar! But something a little more relevant to you all, would be the little bump located at the bottom, center of this adorable pic:

If you didn't know, now you know... Emily is preggo! She's having a little boy and we {collectively} just couldn't be more excited! You may even be seeing some baby related posts in the weeks and months to come. :) And anyone who has fun baby shower ideas, please send them my way!!

Happy Monday!

Weekend Inspiration

Happy Friday! I'm not sure about you, but we have a big weekend ahead. You know, one of those weekends where you ideally need to be rested in order to conquer all that needs to be done? Well, this is what we're up to...

Moving!

After weeks of re-organizing and purging and packing the office, Paper Moss is making a move this weekend! We're super excited about our new space in Back Bay and you better believe that we'll be sharing more details {and pics!!} once we're settled!! Until then, pray for me as I sweat it out this weekend with the movers!

{via}

Celebrate & cool down!

You better believe that come Sunday evening, I'll be ready to indulge in something sweet and celebrate that the move is over! I've had my eye on these Champagne & Raspberry popsicles for some time now and it seems that in celebratory fashion, this weekend will be perfect to try them out. Champagne just makes every celebration a little more sparkly!

What are your weekend plans?

Hello, sunshine!

After a nice spring storm {by that I mean the thunder was terrifying} last night, we're ready to see some sunshine and feel the anticipated heat today in Boston. Though I think we're still a ways off from beach season, the fact that it is supposed to hit 90+ today has got me thinking about beach totes... or at least in the meantime, a bag that is large enough to lug around sunscreen and a water bottle to stay hydrated! Here are some of my picks that are out so far this year:

Clockwise from top:

Kate Spade Call to Action Tote

Sole Society Jada Tote

Club Monaco Hat Attack Striped Tote

Who's excited for summer?!

Personal Touches

When it comes to wedding day decor & accessories, we LOVE when couples incorporate special touches that reflect their unique personalities and/or their story. These coasters from BHLDN are a great way to encourage your guests to participate in making the day unique to the couple too!

How fun would these be to flip through after the honeymoon? This might be a new favorite alternative to a guest book!

Tuesday Shoesday

We have a true appreciation for shoes as an art form, as a functional form of fashion and as an ignitor of inspiration. Hence our faithful Tuesday Shoesday postings ;). Today, our pick is a little ruffly and a lot vintage. Vintage inspired shoes happen to be among my favorites. It's just intriguing to see age old trends taking on new forms. This pairing of aqua and white is so playful!!

{via}

Fruit infusion

When the warm weather hits, the last thing I want is a heavy meal. Especially now that I'm going to be a Mrs. soon, I'm looking to start a stock pile of seasonal recipes for my man {farewell to my dinners of wine and cookies} and for entertaining. As of late, I've been loving all of the recipes that rope in whole fruit for some fresh, spring flavors!

Fabulous flat breads

I've had my eye on this yummy nectarine + fresh basil + balsamic reduction pizza ever since I stumbled upon it on pinterest. Fruit on a pizza may not go over well with my man, but you better believe that I'm up for the adventure!! Perhaps this is best saved for a dinner with girlfriends... :)

{via}

Fancy salads

What could be better on a warm evening than a good salad? This Bacon, Pear & Blueberry mix sounds like the perfect blend of sweet and savory and could be eaten solo for a light meal or paired with an entree. I'll definitely be filing this recipe away for the next barbecue I host or attend!

{via}

Sip on sangria

Every year as we wait for the first slew of warm days, I dream of what kind of sangria will be the first of the season. Just the other week I spotted this recipe for Spring Sangria and it sounds every bit delicious! Strawberry, pineapple and citrusy flavors paired with white wine & seltzer... doesn't it sound refreshing? We might just have to give it a go this weekend!

Do you have any fabulous recipes that combine sweet & savory? If so, please share! :)

Have a lovely long weekend!!
