Merci beaucoup

A few months ago we had the chance to meet up with Jacqueline Weppner, the beauty behind Merci New York. Can I just tell you, this woman is inspiring?! Along with being incredibly sweet, she founded & operates a {New York based} company that offers styling services for brides, an inspiration-packed blog and a lovely little online style shop. Today's Purseday pick is straight from their shop. This coral python clutch is begging to be in my closet but really, any color would do. ;) I just love the versatility of this little bag and one of my favorite parts... you can choose between vintage inspired brooches for the front closure!! Oh details!

To all of you brides reading this, if you're looking for a chic, flawless wedding style, hook up with Merci New York! And, if you haven't checked out their blog yet, it's a must!

Pretty Paper: Stephanie & Colm

On this Wedding Wednesday, I'm happy to share with you some fun, punchy stationery. First off, I want to say that the bride and groom {Stephanie & Colm} were an absolute kick to work with! Their fun and vibrant wedding vision was a perfect reflection of them... well, with a Lilly Pulitzer influence. Today for Wedding Wednesday, we wanted to share the pretty, preppy invitation suite that set the tone for a gorgeous, relaxed oceanside wedding. Hope you enjoy!!

Weekend Inspiration

Is it just me or did this week fly by? After a fabulous time last night at our Fashion Crush event, we're SUPER excited for this weekend. Why you may ask?? Well, keep reading our weekend inspiration!

Look at pretty paper

Emily and I are getting ready to pack up and head to NYC for the National Stationery Show! Among stationery nerds like ourselves, this is like Christmas. It only comes but once a year and we anticipate, plan and strategize how we want to tackle it. We'll be soaking up the latest stationery trends, new paper lines and all of that fun stuff. ;) If you'd like to celebrate this joyous occasion, you can do so by picking up some pretty paper and sending notes to friends and family!!

Spice up the bun

We all love the sock bun, but let's be honest... sometimes it's a little too formal for everyday wear. One of my favorite approaches for the bun, is to put the sock at the base of a loose, high ponytail but rather than rolling the hair in the sock, wrap it around the sock, then pin and spray. This creates a loose, messier version. After catching this pic on Pinterest, I am now excited to pop a scarf into the mix for a fabulous little springtime take!

Try a DIY

Since we all spend a lot of time on the computer, we thought this mousepad might be a fun and ridiculously easy way to spice up the work space. Want to join in the fun with a little DIY this weekend? Get the "how to" over on Lovely Indeed!

Happy weekending!

Oh Celine!

We love keeping our eye on trends and scoring statement pieces every now and then, but I always find myself gravitating back to a simple, classic style. This look from Pink Horror Show is a prime example of just that- and the Celine Nano Luggage bag could not be more perfect to compliment this timeless style.

What do you think? Would you rather rock a statement purse or something more neutral & versatile??

Oh and Bostonians... don't forget to pop by Crush Boutique in Beacon Hill tonight for our Fashion Crush event!!! You won't want to miss hearing about these trends, not to mention a 10% off discount at the boutique! Hope to see you there!

The play by play

Today is the day, folks. The pictures are up and for those who haven't heard it, the story is ready to be told. Before we dive in, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Mikhail Glabets Photography for so beautifully capturing our special day!! On the Friday morning of April 26th, I started my 2 hour drive to the Ocean House for a supposed meeting with a client & her mother who were coming from London to tackle some wedding plans. I was especially excited for this meeting, as in my correspondence with the super sweet bride-to-be I loved her vision, I love her venue AND I just adore British accents.

Upon arriving at the Ocean House, I was greeted by Toni who tackles all of the beautiful weddings there. She explained that the sweet couple I would be meeting with was down at the private beach as part of their tour of the property. We headed down to the beach to make the introduction and just as we were passing the beachside restaurant, Toni recalled that she left something for the client in her office and needed to run back. She told me to take my heels off {to walk in the sand} and head over to the couple around the bluff to the left. Little did I know who was waiting there instead...

As I surveyed the beach, all I saw was someone crouching and a guy standing, facing my direction. Admittedly, it took awhile for me to realize that it was MY guy standing there, especially since he had a meeting that morning & was working on {and I was praying for} a big trade that he was hoping would go through that day. As I got closer, the confusion set in...
It was surreal to see the man of my dreams standing on a beach in one of my favorite places in the world, waiting for me. With a ring. AHHHH! I was beyond excited, but so confused: what about his meeting? His big trade? Who was the client I had been emailing with for weeks?! He sweetly responded that I was his big trade and he was my big client... with the help of Emily, they had made up a fake email account and everything! Needless to say, the questions all faded away when he got down on one knee...
I enthusiastically said YES to spending the rest of my life with him!!!
And then we celebrated, obviously!! Dan's sister, Jen was there recording the whole thing on her iPhone while Mikhail worked his magic documenting the best day of our lives. It couldn't have been more perfect and I am SO THANKFUL to have gorgeous pictures to capture this memory.

After the proposal, Jen & Mikhail headed back to Boston and Dan and I sat on the beach for a couple of hours taking in the moment. Lunch was waiting up in the Ocean House, along with congratulations from just about every person on staff, including Toni who helped make it all happen. We truly felt cared for & celebrated!! After lunch, I spent some time relaxing in the Ocean House spa {which I could rave about for hours, but I'll save that for another post} and then we headed back to Boston to celebrate with friends.

Please check out the rest of the pics over on Mikhail's blog!! And if you're soon to be engaged, there is nothing I would recommend more than having a stellar photographer {such as Mikhail} there to document the day!

Thanks for celebrating this exciting time with me!! And thank you to the Ocean House for making this day so sweet!! We are excited to have a special place to celebrate the many anniversaries ahead!

1920's Crystal Shoesday

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you know that The Great Gatsby movie came out over the weekend. While I didn't have the chance to see it yet, I've heard some mixed reviews. Did you catch it on opening weekend? If so, what did you think?! Today's shoesday pick is in honor of the Gatsby style that has been revitalized this year. As a wedding industry professional, I couldn't be more giddy to see this 1920's influence make it's mark on weddings & show itself on stationery. Style Me Pretty recently featured a beautiful Gatsby inspired wedding shoot and these stunning Miu Miu crystal shoes completely caught my eye!!

Featured: Allison & Don

Working with Allison & Don on their rustic Vermont wedding was such a blast! Not only are they an incredibly sweet couple, but their desire to incorporate designs from Riverside Farm {their venue} into their stationery offered a fresh challenge. Their love of icons gave way to creating custom sketches that perfectly accented the typography. Designs were enhanced by letterpress pale blue ink and white foil on the matching blue RSVP return envelope. We're excited to say that this beautiful event, coordinated by the masterminds at True Event was recently featured on Style Me Pretty! Enjoy a peek at their wedding pics, taken by Dave Robbins Photography.

Happy Monday!!

Weekend inspiration

Friday is here at last! What do you have planned to celebrate the weekend? In the midst of letting loose and relaxing, don't forget that Mothers Day is on Sunday! Here are some of the things on our agenda for being a weekend warrior...

Love on the moms in your life

Regardless of if you do gifts for your mother and/or mother in law, take extra time to write a heartfelt card. This day is all about celebrating their parenting through the ups and downs of life.

{via}

Get your brunch on!

Mother's Day brunch is a tradition that I miss so dearly- being on the other side of the country from my mom is just short of torture during this time of year! If you have the opportunity to spoil your mama in person this weekend, think about taking the brunch, lunch or dinner up a few notches with a fun table scape to make her feel like her day is a special event! I'm loving this fresh, springy scape!!

Plan a trip

Traveling is one GIGANTIC cultivator of inspiration for me. Yes, I'm currently on a trip {in Minnesota} but while I'm away, I challenge you to plan your next escapade! Whether it's a relaxing weekend get away or a week long adventure, plan something to look forward to. What's next up on your travel wish list?

{via}

While we're at it, we'd feel bad not mentioning that Kate Spade has an awesome vacation giveaway happening right now!! Enter to win the vaycay of a lifetime courtesy of Kate!!

One hot handbag

For the last decade I have LOVED Hobo handbags. A few years back, my sweet brother gifted me one of their wallets for Christmas and I can't say enough good things about the quality, the style and {of course} the chic contrasting fabric lining! Little details like that are simply the best! Right now, the Farrah is on the top of my handbag wish list, for obvious reasons...

Handbag hotness, right?!

You're invited to Fashion Crush

We've joined forces with some other awesome local vendors for a super fun event next Thursday night {05.16.13} at Crush Boutique on Charles Street. Swing by during the open house to see some of the seasons hottest wedding trends- whether you'll be the bride or a guest! Grab the gals and enjoy some bubbly, some bites from Fireside Catering and a shopping discount at the boutique! Here are some more details...

Hope to see you all there!!

Lace, tulle & teal

Now that I'm an engaged gal, I have wedding gowns & bridal shoes on my mind more than usual but this week, I'm especially excited for my soon to be sister in law's big day that is taking place on Friday!! As the wedding festivities approach, I'm becoming more and more eager to see her gown and to find out which wedding shoes she picked! Though this gorgeous pic is too vintage for my personal style, I'm adoring the combo of lace, tulle and teal suede! It's inspiring me to try to combine textures & patterns for my wedding day attire. What are your thoughts: too much? Too vintage? Just right??

The future Mrs...

Hello & happy Monday! Last week, we mentioned  that there are some fun things brewing in the Paper Moss office and today I'm excited to get a little personal with y'all and kick off the week with one of the latest developments! My man {whom I refer to every so often} popped the question a week ago on Friday!!! I've been wanting to gush with you all about this development but needed to make sure that we called family and friends before we entered it into the blogosphere. While I'm waiting for the right time to share the story of our proposal, I will say that through some serious plotting & scheming, I was lured to one of my favorite places on earth: The Ocean House.

{via}

As if I wasn't already obsessed with this place, having the man of my dreams ask me to be his wife {on their private beach!} really sealed the deal. So until further notice when I can dish the details & share some photos by our dear friend Mikhail Glabets, here's a little selfie we snapped while sitting on the beach...

Stay tuned for the full, uber romantic story ;)

Weekend Inspiration

I don't know if you know, but this is kind of a big weekend!! Between the Kentucky Derby starting tomorrow and Cinco de Mayo being on Sunday, there are so many opportunities for fun, friendship and festiveness!!

Sip on a mint julep

Even if you're not in to horse racing, you can't deny that the tradition and festivities behind the Kentucky Derby are intriguing. Why not play the part by donning some super extravagant hats and sipping on mint juleps? Or if you're not keen on that idea, at least whip up a Julep & tune in for the annual hat parade as guests show off their derby fashion!

{via}

PLUS in the spirit of this weekend, check out this Kentucky Derby inspired bridal shower designed by our friend Lauren of Lauren Wells Events!! So fun!

Celebrate the cinco

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays {apart from Christmas & Easter, which have sentimental value} and along with the usual enchiladas, margs & guac that we celebrate with, I'd like to take it a step up with crafting a piñata. We bought one last year from a party store but thanks to this awesome inspiration from Studio DIY, I might be dusting off the gold paint can!! How are you planning to celebrate?

{via}

Take some more pics

When things get busy, this is one of the last things I think of doing. This weekend, why not get out there and snap some photos of springtime, of festivities, of your city or if you dare... of strangers! With Instagram making editing so easy & fun, {non-professional} photography is such an accessible art form. Nothing quite compares to the beauty & talent of a stellar photog but gosh darn it, we'll keep trying! ;)

Happy weekending!!

Changing names

One of my favorite things in the WORLD is monograms. What could be more fun than personalizing something... especially when it's in honor of a new last name?! Needless to say, we at Paper Moss adore designing monograms for stationery {wedding or otherwise} but here's a round up of some of our favorite jewelry & gift pieces right now!!

{1. via; 2. via; 3. via; 4. via; 5. via; 6. via; 7. via}

Are you monogram obsessed too?! What is your favorite go to piece?

C. Wonder

We've always loved the clean lines & preppy style of Tory Burch so it shouldn't come as a surprise that when we discovered C.Wonder, it was love at first sight. If you've never heard of this brand, take note that the man behind these gorgeous shoes, funky accessories, breathtaking handbags and crisp clothing is none other than the ex-hubby of Tory. This fact does nothing but intrigue us even more... please, join in the obsession by celebrating these bright flats for Tuesday Shoesday!!

With only a couple of boutiques around the US, visiting one has now landed a spot on our life "to-do" list. This pic is luring us in... for obvious reasons:

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!!!

A sparkly Monday, indeed!

Oh hello there and happy Monday! After an incredible weekend of smiles, surprises & celebrations, we're ready to dive head first into this week. In honor of some exciting things happening in the Paper Moss office right now, {stay tuned for updates!!} it is only appropriate to kick off this week with some glittery inspiration...!

Weekend Inspiration

Happy Friday! Today's weekend inspiration is about all things spring. Now that spring has finally sprung, we're delighted to give in to the sunshine and recover from a pretty harsh winter... not to mention a tough couple of weeks in Boston. Whatever you have up your sleeves for the next couple of days, we hope it's filled with sun, smiles and relaxation!

Get a pedi

Dust off those sandals and show off that pretty polish! Either get pampered and let someone else do the dirty work or if you're on a budget, try some of these tips for an at home pedicure.

Brighten up

If these ladies can pull it off, so can YOU. Don't be intimidated by the glowingly bright denim that is trending; embrace it! I scored a pair of neon yellow skinnies (like the ones on the far right) and they quickly became a favorite. You'll seriously feel like you're helping summer come faster and really, we should all be doing our part to make sure that happens. :)

Spread some cheer

We all love a little positive feedback, right? Well pretend it's valentines day {sans mushiness} and tell your besties, roommates, husbands, coworkers & neighbors what you appreciate about them. It will make their day and chances that they'll spread the cheer are pretty high.

Happy weekending, loves!
