A bridal brunch

Okay, so we're obviously obsessing over all things fall right now and the season is in full swing. We still have to get through the rest of October and then November before we can start to really, fully embrace our *favorite* holiday. Perhaps that's why autumn is so delightful- it's the prelude to a time of thankfulness, thoughtfulness and giving! That being said, be sure to come back on Friday for a very special announcement!!! Anyway, back on topic. Stumbling across this Pumpkin Harvest Brunch idea really spoke to the pancake lover within and made my mind spin for excuses to host one. How perfect would this be for a bridal brunch?! Granted, you might have to hand out blankets to keep your guests warm, but that just makes the whole concept even cozier!!

Isn't this the cutest idea to use pumpkins as holders for little silver dollar pancakes??? Along with this adorable shoot, Hostess with the Mostess shared a recipe for a Pumpkin Mojito Bar. Now just to clarify, we're all about mojitos, but for brunch a spiced coffee or champagne cocktail seems more fitting. Either way, this über festive brunch has us swooning over the decor and salivating over the pancakes!

Welcome back burgundy!

The one thing we dread about the crisp fall days is feeling confined to boots. You can only go so far with dressing up a pair and then you have to make a sacrifice for the sake of fashion. These rich burgundy crushed velvet heels from Top Shop however, would be SO worth freezing over. Don't you agree?

{via}

Upon finishing elementary school, a lengthy burgundy sabbatical was in order since it was a favorite color {I may have over done it} but let's be honest, that was well over a decade ago. Now, the more of this color I see, the more I want to see. Welcome back burgundy... with your bows and all!

The right keys

Happy Monday darlings! How was your weekend? Hopefully full of festive fall traditions and relaxation!! Left and right, we've been checking things off our "Autumn to-do list" and this weekend called for a little leaf peeping outside of the city! We bundled up and headed up north to Newburyport- a charming little town on the north shore. A day of poking around in antique shops, eating yummy seafood and admiring the bright foliage hit the spot! One antique shop we were in had a pile of old keys that I'm just kicking myself for not buying. Of course now that the opportunity has passed I'm thinking of TONS of ways I could have used them. Not that I'm planning a wedding but I just adore these escort cards tied to skeleton keys with satin ribbon!! So cute!

{via}

And apparently there are even ways to use them as home decor, which looks oh-so-simple and is perfectly intriguing since I'm re-decorating my room. Adorbs, right?!

{via}

Or just in a line on the wall? Still SO cute! These may be gracing the walls of the Paper Moss office soon...

{via}

Well, thanks to Etsy, I found a pretty cute variety of vintage keys from Ohio Picker... as well as a goldmine of other antique goodies. Who knew you could go antiquing online?!

{via}

Thanks for sharing in our latest craze! How would you use vintage keys? Any new ideas? Please share!

A very festive monogram

The work week is almost over! For some reason it seemed unusually and ridiculously long- was it just me? Well, in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, this weekend will be spent enjoying a favorite childhood past-time: pumpkin carving! No, we don't have children and NO, we're not too old to carve on our own! This is an art form!! While searching for some inspiration to help guide me away from the traditional chunky orange pumpkin head with triangle eyes I discovered {and fell in love} with this:

{via}

Pumpkin carving in it's classiest form: with monograms! How adorable!! Are you carving pumpkins this year? What look are you going for?

Artfully pursed

During my standard visit to Anthropologie's website, I was a bit taken by and a lot intrigued by the handbags they're holding and the clutches they're clutching this season. So I'm FORCING myself to choose the top 3 that stood out. The rest of their fall collection you'll have to see for yourself. Just be sure to leave that credit card tucked away. :) First, how perfect are these stripes?! They're timeless, seasonless and just plain adorable! Both the clutch and the tote are fabulous! Win.

{via}

And the next items... beaded and bursting with color! Stunning, right? All of the intricate details are so delicate and impressive. Would you prefer a more versatile clutch or a statement piece??

{via, via}

And last but most curiously, these fascinate me. Made from vintage oil paintings, each of the bags in this collection has a still life image and an adorable skinny-belt handle. What do you think- is it better to leave art hanging on the walls or on your shoulder?

{via}

With that I want to give Anthropologie props for fearlessly incorporating different mediums of art with fashion. Each of these bags are SO different- Anthro never ceases to amaze & inspire!!

Wedding inspiration: Plum & Lime

Happy rainy Wednesday, friends! We have some fun autumn wedding inspiration for you today. For those planning a September, October or November wedding, you inevitably face the decision of whether or not to have a fall-ish fall wedding or a NON-fall-ish fall wedding. While there is something so cozy and elegant about a color palette of warm tones, we've been dreaming up some alternative routes and there's just something so exquisite about this one!!

{Clockwise from top left: via; via; via; via; via; viavia; via}

By using the deep plum as the main color, adding pops of lime and grey can keep it laid back and fun while swapping out the grey for black and gold accents can make it a more elegant affair. LOVE! What do you think??

Have a fabulous day! xo

Let's rationalize another pair...

When it comes to fall and winter, I'm a firm believer that one can't have too many boots. Ankle booties, boots up to the knee, over the knee, flats, heels, black, brown, grey... you can rationalize at least 4 pairs, MAYBE 5 at this point. It's a blessing and a curse, right ladies? After all of the searching for a new pair to welcome the chilly weather, always faithful, STEVEN by Steve Madden came through with these wedges in the perfect {in between chocolate and camel} shade of brown! Three inch wedges aren't too bad either for traipsing around the city, not to mention they'll give the illusion of longer legs!

A Ranunculus Monday

Wouldn't it be great to start using ranunculus as an adjective?! It might not stick, but these flowers are so bright & cheerful that today, in our little Paper Moss world, we're using it as that. {Synonyms include: cheerful, silly, fabulous, rad, etc.} It's a Ranunculus Monday because we should definitely start the week out with these colorful little blooms! They come in just about every color of the rainbow and in my humble opinion, they are a perfect flower to add a fun, funky splash to any wedding!

What's not to love??? May your Monday be Ranunculus!

Recap & Celebrate

Wow, it's been quite a week! Thanks for sharing in our joy with the recent Paper Moss update and celebrating our little victories of being in Well Wed Magazine and the Improper Bostonian. Seriously, you guys are the best and we can't thank you enough for your support, kind emails and happy comments!

On Wednesday evening, we went to an event at Veronique and had the most divine festive cocktail: champagne + apple cider. Easy and delicious, being one part cider, three parts champagne and you have the option to line the rim with cinnamon & sugar! If you're looking for something new to try to celebrate the weekend, give that a shot!! We wish you a very lovely Friday, may it be the prelude to a spectacular weekend!! xo

Well Wed

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!! We definitely did a celebration dance recently when we saw the latest issue of the Cape & the Islands edition of Well Wed Magazine. It's truly a beautiful issue packed full of AMAZING ideas and stunning inspiration!! One of the most exciting parts however, is having one of our recent inspiration shoots included!!! We worked with Tyra Bleek Photography, Becca of Petal Floral Design and the lovely ladies at Boston Bridal Lounge to bring this bright & beautiful "Winter Rainbow" concept to life.

A Paper Moss Update!

HAPPY MONDAY! Today is a day of updates. If you're a friend of Paper Moss, you may already know that we've been experiencing a little growth spurt lately and couldn't be more excited! We are thrilled to now have locations in both Providence & Boston, and figured it's time to introduce you to the "team". So you may know Emily- the face, the founder & designer of all of the pretty paper and goodies of Paper Moss, but just in case you aren't familiar with this fabulous lady, let's get better acquainted:

Some fun facts about Emily...

Yes, Emily is the genius behind the pretty stationery that you might love! She handles the creative process & all of the customized designs. Whether it be an invitation suite, tote bags, custom bow ties or anything in between, Emily is great at making sure all of the details tie together perfectly.

Since I {Anna} am not involved in the design process, I get to gush about how GORGEOUS the stationery is! Aside from being the blogger, tweeting and participating in other social media & marketing shenanigans, I am also the account manager. If you work with Paper Moss on a project, I'll be with you during the initial meeting, brainstorming, and putting together your estimate & contract. We re-connect after designs are done and finalize all of your project details. And of course, now you get to learn about me:

Some fun facts about Anna...

We were lucky to spend an afternoon with the adorable & talented Tyra of Tyra Bleek Photography. This was a great opportunity to be reminded that we're far from being professional models {thankfully Tyra worked her magic} but the day was full of gorgeous weather and LOTS of laughing.

Any guesses what Emily said to make me laugh?? Oh goodness...

So, there you have it! We couldn't be more excited about all that's going on behind the scenes here at Paper Moss!! Thanks for your continued support and encouragement. If you have any questions or feedback, don't hesitate to email us at info@papermoss.com or OF COURSE, leave a comment below.

Southern New England Weddings

On this fantastic Friday, we wanted to share some great news- our clients, Kelly & Tommy were on the cover of Southern New England Weddings, Destination Edition! Their wedding at the Ocean House was beautifully orchestrated by our sweet & oh-so-talented friend, Sarah True of True Event and a dream team of New England vendors such as Stoneblossom {florals}, Ryan Designs {lounge furniture} and Jennie Fresa Beauty Library {makeup}. And last but not least... Miles Whitt Boyer was there to capture it all with his breath-taking photography!

You will NOT want to miss seeing the beauty of this wedding! Check out the feature on Miles Whitt Boyer's blog! Congrats to Kelly and Tommy on this exciting honor!

Thursday Purseday

Going along with our recent attraction to polka dots {as mentioned in this week's Tuesday Shoesday} we also loved this precious little Fendi Bag. Ah how glorious and a perfect way to add a colorful pop to any outfit. Imagine latching on to this while bundled in a khaki trench or a lightweight wool coat- it might just be the perfect accessory for fall!?

Oh Nantucket!

One of the best things about living in Massachusetts is how close Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are. Perfect for a weekend getaway, a weeklong excursion... or the wedding of your dreams. When Michelle called us last Spring, explaining her vision for a nautical Nantucket-red invitation suite for her big day, it was clear as day that we could bring it to life. These designs were so fun- especially drawing the detailed map {shown at the bottom} and we just HAD to put together a little inspiration board!

If you're planning a seaside event- Nantucket or otherwise- we hope you find some inspiration!!! A big CONGRATULATIONS to Michelle and David on their recent marriage!!

Polka dot party shoes

One of the trends that we're swooning over right now is polka dots. Yep, rumor has it that they're coming back and when we stumbled upon these pretty little heels from BHLDN they caught our eye and pulled on our heartstrings!

And the lavish, sparkly, bronzed bow makes these shoes sort of seasonally versatile, don't you think?
