Studded

While chatting with some of our most fashion savvy friends the other day, they mentioned that one hot trend for fall is studs. We're probably in the "slow adapter" category when it comes to fashion and this is one of those things that will take some warming up to. Blaire from Atlantic-Pacific however, is absolutely ROCKING these Valentino kitten heels...

 Paired with a chic, edgy, feminine ensemble, this seems doable. Maybe.

What do you think: will you bring the sass this season and give in to the trend... or will you pass?

Falling for Patch NYC

I don’t know what it is but there is something that I just kind of love about Target and this fall I have a reason to love it a little bit more. Having collaborated with the likes of West Elm and Anthropologie in the past, I was so excited to learn that the Boston store Patch NYC would be one of the four featured boutiques in ‘The Shops at Target’this September. If you haven’t heard of Patch NYC before and have a love for anything vintage, then you are definitely in for a treat. Reflecting the owners love of rediscovered objects, travel and nature, their vintage inspired pieces have a modern take and are truly unique. Discovering this shop in Boston was an unexpected surprise in itself and felt like finding that perfect vintage find. I cannot wait to see the entirety of their home décor collection at Target this Fall. I just can't get enough of the color combinations and textiles! I'm already falling for the pieces I've seen from it!!

Do you have a favorite vintage find??

Color Crush: teal + coral + yellow

More and more we're finding that brides don't have two main wedding colors any more, but rather an entire palette. This is one trend that we're hoping sticks around for a long time. One sunny combo that we've been crushing on is teal + coral + yellow with white or champagne as a base. So elegant, feminine and fun, don't you agree?

{clockwise from top left: viaviaviaviavia, via}

Depending on the tones, this palette can be used in spring, summer and even fall... which is an awesome alternative to the standard autumn colors!!

Perfectly Preppy

Just the other day when Emily & I were doing a site visit at the Ocean House, we were perusing some of the local shops and were thrilled to see a fabulous selection of Tipsy Skipper clutches! If you're not on board with this adorable New England based company, it's time to catch up and add a preppy, nautical Captain Morgan Clutch to your wardrobe!

And there are SOOOO many fun colors + patterns... oh my!{via}

I should mention-  Tipsy Skipper doesn't stop at clutches. They have adorably bright skimmers & flip flops... but that's for another day. Today on this Purseday, we rejoice over the sassy little clutch. A fun idea for bridesmaids gifts, perhaps?

Tonight, tonight!!

On this sweet Wedding Wednesday, we figured it is only appropriate to start the day with some fresh, beautiful blooms. This combination of shapes & textured flowers makes us swoon... almost as if they're sitting in the office, smiling back at us. There's nothing quite like a vibrant bouquet to breathe some life into the day, right?

{via}

Today isn't your average Wedding Wednesday. Why you may ask? Well, tonight, we co-host Wedding Crush and we couldn't be more psyched! Fabulous local vendors {think: Georgetown Cupcake, Style Me Pretty, G2O Salon & Spa... and more} have been collaborating on this trend filled event. If you're in Boston {or close by} pop on in Crush Boutique on Newbury street to find out the hottest ways to plan or attend a wedding in style!  Check out more details here and if you can't make it, {as a side note} we highly suggest that you peruse Crush's website anyways, because good HEAVENS do they have some cute stuff!!

Have a beautiful Wednesday & we hope to see your pretty face tonight!

Splurge vs. Steal

Hey it's Erin from One Two Summer guest posting on one of my all time favorite accessories... SHOES! In a dream world, I’d own lots of Chanel. The iconic logo, the piping, the boxy jackets, the fabulous play on neutrals—all to die for! And I love the brand’s take on what I consider to be the perfect fall shoe: the ballerina flat. The only problem? The price. This pair sells on eBay for about $500 (I can only imagine what it goes for new—it seems impossible to find online!)

Thank goodness for ASOS.com. They sell London Rebel’s wallet-friendly take on the ballerina flat. I love how this pair incorporates so many signature Chanel elements like the quilting, the cap toe, and the nude and black color scheme. This pair even pulls a modern twist with the studded embellishments—one of fall’s hottest trends! At $41 on sale and $60 normally, there’s no need to break the bank to get your feet looking this chic.

So fun stopping by for Tuesday Shoesday! Happy shopping!

xo,

Erin

A Little Less Clutter

This summer we have been busy getting organized and have found it to be so refreshing!! It’s amazing how a few changes can make all the difference. I may be one of the few who loves to organize, especially when I find an incredibly awesome storage system or product, but it’s more likely due to the fact that I can never seem to remember where exactly I put   fill in the blank  . It’s a task that can often seem too daunting to start but getting organized doesn’t have to be all work and no play. I know for me, that finding a great product or DIY project makes it feel a lot less like a chore and rather something I want to do. It’s an excuse to have fun and be productive, and it always feels so good afterwards! That sounds like a win-win situation. So whether it’s trying have a little less clutter in your kitchen to your closet, or figuring out how long a bag of food has been in the freezer, these are a few fun and easy ideas and products to make your life a little more organized.

What’s on your list to sort through these days??

Real Weddings: Kelly & Chris

Working with Kelly & Chris to create their adorable sheep inspired invitation suite was beyond fun... to say the least! As we learned about their vision and saw it being brought to life throughout our design process, we worked closely to create some fun day-of-accessories to tie the paper goods, favors & table settings together. The outcome was more incredible than we could have imagined, and Style Me Pretty California agreed!!

Allyson Magda Photography was there capturing the sentimental moments shared between Kelly & Chris, the breathtaking countryside in Carmel and {of course} all of the details!! Let's just say that this girl has got TALENT! We couldn't resist sharing some more photos from the gallery of their big day... enjoy!!

Congratulations to Kelly & Chris on your marriage & thanks so much for letting us share your beautiful, big day!!!

Bright & Fendi

Since we're hesitant to fully abandon summer fashion and delve into fall, we're majorly focusing on transitional pieces. This colorful Fendi bag would be a prime example {if it weren't sold out}... the combination of sleek, classic off white leather and bright metal embellishments honor the upcoming fall trend without screaming "DARKNESS!!!". You know what we mean.

 Have you found a good transitional bag to bid farewell to summer and say hello to fall with? Do tell!!

Do the Polka

It was pretty much love at first sight when our eyes met these stunning calf hair polka dot flats by Loeffler Randall. I know you know what we mean... aren't they just perfect?!

{via}

Of course, they don't quite fit into the "back to school" budget {no, we're not going back to school. Yes, it's just an excuse to shop} sooo alas, the search went on. Gladly, polka dot flats are apparently a must have for this season! They're every where- in a variety of styles & price points to fit every budget. Truly! See for yourself...

Into the Wild

What better place to explore your wild side than in the depths of South Africa?! Take a 50 minute plane ride from Johannesburg and you have arrived at this weeks unforgettable Honeymoon Hotspot, the Makanyane Safari Lodge. The lodge itself sits inside of the Madikwe Game Reserve, which is home to a variety of animals, including the Big Five (elephants, lions, buffalo, rhinos and leopards).  You may be out in the wild savannah, but you'll find that the owners made comfort a top priority for their guests. And with only eight suites and a maximum of sixteen guests, you truly will receive the utmost care during your stay. Makanyane embraces local materials and textures from natural rock walls and thatched roofs to teak doors along with colorful textiles and patterns in the interiors. As the lodge was aimed to be as least invasive as possible on its’ surroundings, you will see no barriers between you and the reserve, meaning you might just wake up to an elephant or zebra outside of your room.

{via, via, via, via, via, via, via, via, via}

While there, the lodge offers several excursions such as drives and walks in the reserve, private barbeques and breakfasts out in the bush, and going to one of their “hides” in order to view the wildlife. They also offer the unique experience of sleeping outside on a deck near a secluded waterhole. Can't you just imagine falling asleep to the sounds of savannah and taking in the starry sky?

You truly will have ventured into the wild on this Honeymoon Hotspot. What would you hope to spot on your stay??

We are so beyond excited to share that Paper Moss won the "Best of Boston" award for Stationery this year! Really, truly!!! It's been a fabulous year since we officially set up camp in Boston and we've just fallen in love with this city. Thank you for all the support, encouragement and love that you've all given us along the way.

Dreaming of Miu Miu

Happy Thursday Purseday! Today we must confess that we've been dreaming about this perfectly woven Miu Miu bag. Made of soft black and white calf leather, paired with a tortoise logo plate and gold hardware... every detail just exudes luxury! It's almost irresistible, if only the price tag {$1960} was a little more friendly...

Trending: Art deco wedding gowns

What comes around goes around- especially in fashion, right? One trend we've been loving lately is the Art Deco inspired wedding gowns that have been parading the runways for Fall 2012. Romantic, soft lines paired with intricate beading, sheer fabrics, feathers and breathtaking backs make this style elegant, dreamy and dare we say, sexy? Absolutely. This gown by Sue Wong first caught our eye... and for obvious reasons started our love for this trend.

{via}

Another one that caught our eye is the Odetta gown by Johanna Johnson. The dropped waist and scoop neck is so simple yet elegant, leaving the stunning back to drive home the "wow" factor.

{via}

And of course, leave it to BHLDN to be among the retailers to offer some of these gorgeous vintage inspired gowns too! We're adoring the Lita gown by Catherine Deane {shown on top} and the Aiguille gown by Anna Sui {shown on bottom} both of which are exclusive to BHLDN.

 {via}

Now that we've had our turn to gush, we're curious what you think about the Art Deco trend. Which is your favorite gown?

Sparkly Bows

Some people tend to over-use the word "cute". Admittedly at times we can fall into that category, but let's be honest... these punchy purple wedding shoes topped with sparkly bows are just stinkin' cute! Don't you agree?!

{via}

They might not be versatile, but they sure are glamourous and fun! Happy shoesday, gals!

Let's Get Together

Summer may still be here, but as August is underway fall will soon be knocking on our door. Rather than think about colder weather, we'd much prefer to think about all the time we have left to bask in the heat! So we thought we’d share these fabulous outdoor spaces perfect for hosting end of summer gatherings and to just relax in while taking in a few extra rays of sunshine this August.

{via}

After seeing these, we couldn’t help but feel the urge to get outside and do a little revamping ourselves. It's the perfect excuse to have a get together! What would you do with your outdoor space?

A weekend wind down

Happy Friday! What is on your to-do list for the weekend? One thing we've been dying to do is make some of the boozy popsicles on Endless Simmer, a brilliant foodie blog. Each of these mouth watering recipes read to be refreshing and are a fun way to cool down... for those of age. This one is on the top of our list:

 {via}

The recipe for peach syrup can be found here. And while on topic of popsicles, have you seen this Zoku Quick Pop Maker from Williams Sonoma? GAHH! If only we discovered this sooner... it could have changed the ENTIRE summer. This will surely be on the "Must Have" list for next summer.

Have a lovely weekend!!

Stunning silver

When it comes to metaling in the Olympics, gold is obviously what everyone is aiming for, but let's be honest, it must be pretty stinkin' fabulous to take home a silver, right? Alright, alright, to even GO to the Olympics is beyond our wildest dreams. Anyway, we'd rather rock gold any day of the year, but silver has its own sleek, mysterious charm that we're kind of crushing on right now, especially thanks for Mr. Michael Kors. Check out some of his new arrivals that are causing us to majorly swoon...

Unveiling the perfect veil

Today we're super excited to have our dear friend Juliana stopping by to share her insight and expertise.... and her gorgeous hand drawings. Enjoy this special Wedding Wednesday veil feature!! Choosing your wedding dress can be stressful enough- let alone trying to find the perfect veil to accompany it. I've laid out a few guidelines to help smooth over the process, based on different styles of dresses and personals tastes.

#1 Fascinator or Headpiece- A wonderful option for a more non-traditional or minimalist bride, and a great way to show off the details of an avant guarde dress with architectural details. These are also great for ladies with short haircuts, and anyone that would like a fun reception option!

#2 Birdcage Veil- I love these to showcase a retro style dress. Birdcage Veils also work well proportionally for tea-length or short dresses.

#3 Mid-Length Veil- This veil adds a bit of a classic look, without being too traditional. Mid-length veils are also a wonderful option for more petite brides, because they won’t overwhelm a smaller frame.

#4 Blusher Veil with Embellished Edge- I think this can be a beautiful focal point for a simple dress with clean lines. The addition of embellishment can also differentiate your wedding day look between the ceremony and reception, if you choose to remove your veil before the dancing starts. It also will give a touch of sparkle and pattern to  your look without being overbearing.

#5 Waterfall Veil– These are ideal for a floor-length gowns, that do not have trains, like grecian or draped-style gowns. Waterfall veils are also a wonderful way to show off details at the front of a gown without being distracting.

#6 Cathedral Length Veil- This style is ideal to dramatize or enhance a dress with a long train. A cathedral length veil can also be embellished only at the train end, so as not to distract from the dress. In general, the edge of the veil should extend at least one and a half feet past the end of the train, to maintain a beautiful proportion.

I hope this has given you some direction and things to consider while selecting the perfect veil for your big day! Have a happy Wedding Wednesday!
