Studded Flats

If you've been following us for awhile, you might have seen how much we adored the trend of studded stilettos earlier this fall. Well, being more practical now that the chilly New England weather is upon us, we're digging on the more practical version: flats. We need shoes that will allow us to move a bit faster- into warm buildings. Truly, it's a little devastating when that time of year arrives. But alas, there are some adorable options out there for every budget!

And if you're on a SUPER budget, I Spy DIY has a super easy way to refresh & update an existing pair of flats. Check it out... and then proceed to get lost on that blog, because it's full of fun ideas!!!

Holiday Traditions

Now that the Christmas spirit is in full swing, we've got holiday traditions on the mind. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be sharing some of our faves and we're dying to know some of yours!! Ever since I {Anna} was little, my mom has chosen "ornaments of the year" to give to my brothers and I. This is the first gift we get to open, usually on Christmas eve and then we each find a spot for them on the tree. The idea was to help us build a collection of our own so that when we get married and have families of our own, we can take those memories {and the ornaments} with us. I had the honor of helping my mom choose this year's ornaments, and I must say that they're pretty stinkin' cute. My favorite part though?? Our new addition to the family ornament collection: one for my beau. :) Anyway, being her side-kick in this selection process got me thinking: if I were 100% charge of choosing, what would I go with? Something kitschy? Classic? Maybe something more on the elegant side? Here are some super cute ones that I'm digging...

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's finally here- an entire day devoted to celebrating all of the blessings in our lives. We hope that your day is filled with delicious food, football, resting, lots of laughing, good memories in the making and last but not least, the knowledge that you are so very blessed! We're thankful for you!!!

Let's get festive

Happy BLACK FRIDAY! Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and are recovering quite nicely. Today we're thrilled to turn on some Christmas tunes, sip on some cocoa and break out the holiday decor!! We've been bottling this up for months now, so while many are battling the crowds to jump start their holiday shopping, we're just going to enjoy a relaxing day at home, letting all of this pent-up festive energy out!!

What are you up to on this infamous day of the year?! Braving the malls or kicking back and relaxing?

Real Weddings: Jordan & Geoff

Today as we continue to reflect on the things we're thankful for, our fabulous clients are definitely at the top of the list. Getting to know each couple and working together on such a special project makes us psyched to see their wedding photos. Jordan and Geoff are a prime example- thankfully, this sweet couple just relocated to Boston and we've had the joy of running into them!! We're excited that they, along with Emilie Photography were willing to share their elegant, coastal wedding with us...enjoy!!

from the bride: My most memorable moment was the first-look. Geoff came to my parent's oceanfront rental home and I remember seeing him face out to the ocean as I walked down. I was SO excited to see him! It was definitely the most intimate part of the day. I am glad we had those few minutes alone because the entire day was so busy!

from the bride: I LOVED our seating cards. My mom and I collected driftwood and made burlap boats out of it. On every boat was a flag with the person's name and table number. I loved these boats because it fit into our coastal theme but it had that DIY feel to it at the same time! To keep things unique and emphasize the coastal elegance, we had these gorgeous shell centerpieces instead of flowers!
from the bride: The wedding was the best day of my life! It was so fun to have everyone Geoff and I love in the same place. Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all held at the Wequassett. A beautiful porch wrapped around the ballroom, allowing our guests to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery if dancing did not appeal to them! I loved all of our vendors. They were so easy and fun to work with throughout our wedding season.

A perfect world

Tory Burch is one designer that we just can't get enough of. In a perfect world, our fall wardrobe would include a pair of her Selma riding boots from last year's collection... but I suppose we'd manage to settle for the Amanda riding boots that are in stores now. Either way, these soft leather, logo laden boots are nothing short of perfection and are ideal for the chilly, autumn days in New England!

What are your ideal fall shoes?

Giving thanks

The fabulous thing about November is that the entire month has a vibrant undertone of THANKFULNESS. I don't know about you, but it's been so refreshing to see on Facebook and Instagram, people posting about things and people that mean the most to them. Seriously, we're just super thankful for this time of year and the opportunity to be surrounded with optimism and encouragement.

While we're all gearing up to feast on delicious food this week, we're thankful for the opportunity to try our hand at some new recipes. We're feeling a little adventurous and determined to perfect some pies this season... and these little mason jar pies are the challenge of the week.

And how cute are these festive pie cutters from Williams-Sonoma?! With how much we obsess over details, we think these little leaves couldn't be a cuter addition to a Thanksgiving dessert. What recipes do you have your eyes on this year??

Emerald

Those of you that have been following Thursday Purseday for awhile know that I am so stinkin' excited that colorful handbags are a trend. If you're a recent reader, please note that the vast majority of my 20's was spent wearing shades of grey, black, brown and the occasional pop of white... and I'm still mourning the time I lost. ;) The jewel tones that are flooding stores as of late, have us swooning completely, and this round up of stunning emerald bags nicely sums up our adoration:

1. Michael Kors

2. Rebecca Minkoff

3. BCBG

4. Olivia Joy

5. Fendi

Pretty sassy, don't you think?? What is your favorite jewel tone that's trending right now?

trending + loving: Purple

We were psyched {to say the least} when perusing Martha Stewart Weddings the other day and we noticed that low and behold, PURPLE is coming back as a wedding color trend. Now we know there are some haters out there, but please, keep an open mind and just imagine how many directions you can go with this hue. Whether it's a an elegant, regal affair or a rustic autumn gathering, purple is a versatile go-to. Pull together various shades and textures of linens, florals, paper, treats... and don't forget lighting, to really rock this monochromatic color scheme. See why we're loving it??? What do you think?

My Chatelles

A little partial, perhaps, but we think that some of the best things come out of France. Case and point: champagne, Coco Chanel, fluffy & delicious macarons, crepes... and now our latest obsession, Chatelles. These adorably sophisticated slippers come in bright shades of canvas, treated leather- either varnished, fish-scaled or suede. It gets better! They can be customized with a monogram {obvs our favorite option}, contrasting tassels or just kept simple & solid. The kicker however, would have to be the french poetry scripted on the inner footbeds. ADORABLE.

If you're digging these house slippers as much as we are, you'll probably adore the charming little romance tale behind the birth of the company. Perhaps these will wiggle their way to our Christmas wish-list?!?

Happy Veterans Day!

Just in case you're cozied up at home in honor of Veterans Day, we wanted to send along some inspiration for a festive brunch... or even breakfast for dinner!! Red Velvet Pancakes are guaranteed to be delicious and topping them off with blueberries and fresh whipped cream just puts them over the edge! Agh!!

Get the recipe {here} and ENJOY!!!

Happy Veterans Day to all and a huge THANK YOU to all of those who have sacrificed so much to serve our country. We are so blessed by your service!!

Planning ahead: Thanksgiving

Though it's still a few weeks away, we needed to share this adorable Thanksgiving serving set with you IMMEDIATELY. We just love the hand stamped labeling on each of the vintage pieces... so adorable and a "must have" for the holiday! If you're planning to travel for the holiday, wouldn't this make such a sweet hostess gift for whoever is doing the cooking?! Order now so you can make sure it arrives in time for Turkey Day!!

Happy Friday!!

Engraved

Since we spend our days creating and sorting through beautiful letterpressed paper, it probably doesn't come as a surprise that we're OBSESSED with all things engraved and pressed with a similar texture- such as this stunning glossy aborigine Louis Vuitton bag. Yes, meet the handbag of our dreams:

{via}

Gah!! Could she be more radiant or perfect for fall?! I think not. Happy Purseday!!!

Take a seat

Something as simple as selecting the right chair can have a huge effect on the ambiance of your wedding- whether it be the ceremony or the reception. Yes, it can be a little intimidating knowing where to start or even what to ask your wedding planner, so we put together this little chair guide to give you the "vocab" needed to brainstorm the best option for your style and budget. Of course, there are more chair options out there, but these are an accessible and affordable place to start!

If you're tackling the planning + coordinating of your own wedding and are looking for a great rental company in the New England area, we can't sing enough praises about our friends at Rentals Unlimited!!

Bringing back burgundy

Long long ago, back in middle school my favorite color was burgundy. I {Anna} wore it with pride... way too often and finally got to the point where I was repulsed to see it. Yes, I definitely over-loved that color and it quickly translated into repulsion. Luckily time heals, because well, QUITE a few years later it's back and trending for fall 2012! Though I'll probably be a little timid with how I display these tones and will likely be referring to it as bordeaux, brick, aborigine or dark plum... I'm psyched to have it back! What do you think about the trend???

Pretty Paper: Kacie & Beau

Friday is upon us at last and ohhh what a week it's been. Between Hurricane Sandy leaving her mark and Halloween hitting mid-week, it's been quite the adventure. In light of it all, we wanted to end the week with something sweet & elegant- the invitation suite of Kacie & Beau. This couple couldn't have been sweeter themselves and truly their soft grey + white letterpress suite perfectly set the tone for their big day. Lacey patterns + funky fonts all pressed into cotton paper?! YES, this happened:

Have a lovely weekend!! And to all who have been affected by the storm, you're in our prayers!

Feminine Fall Clutch

How was your Halloween?! We spent the evening camped out on the front porch while one by one the costumed neighbor kids cleaned out our candy supply... naturally! Having a chance to catch up with neighbors has got to be my favorite part of the holiday. Seriously, what other day in the year can you knock on a random person's door, just to strike up a friendly conversation and share candy?! Since we're ready to welcome November, today's Purseday pick is another fall fave. In our humble opinion, this Deux Lux clutch would be the PERFECT accessory for bridesmaids in an autumn wedding. What do you think?

{via}

I do

Maybe it's just me being unobservant, but Fall weddings in New England seem to be far more popular than they were in the Northwest. In the spirit of Halloween landing on Wedding Wednesday, we figured that a little bit of wedded pumpkin art was only appropriate. If you had an autumn wedding, would you have pumpkins present?!

Have a happy & safe Halloween, lovelies!!
