Stunning sherbets

Our Thursday Purseday pick for this week is brought to you in a juicy sherbet toned round up... perfect for the approaching holiday. The great news however, is that pastels aren't exclusively for Easter or springtime but they are sticking around for all of 2013. So check it out, and let us know what ya think!

Isn's that Missoni purse to die for?! How are you feeling about the return of the pastel? Yes, many designers are sugar coating this color palette by calling it "sherbets" this time around, but it's still the same sweet hues we were loving on in the 90's. :)

Getting fancy for Easter

With Easter quickly approaching, my friends & I are planning quite the celebration for Sunday. Naturally, we're planning the menu, activities {the annual egg roll competition... it gets competitive} and stocking up on festive decorations. Of course, I'm most excited about my favorite Easter tradition- decorating eggs- which obviously requires careful attention and precision. This year, there are so many fun ideas... it's hard to decide!! Here are a few of our faves:

Origami flowers

Striped eggs

Gold Marbled

Calligraphed eggs {of course we love these ones!!}

Monogrammed eggs

Pantone eggs {obviously!}

Sprinkle eggs

Any suggestions on which route to take?! What fun ideas do you have for decorating eggs this year?

Easter inspired Shoesday

Being the week leading up to Easter, I can't help but to remember the excitement I felt as a little girl, when picking out the perfect Easter dress & shoes. Although my mom and I would make a day of shopping together, she still carefully wrapped my shoes {as to not wrinkle the dress} and put the box in my Easter basket for Sunday morning. Yes, I had to fake being surprised so my brothers wouldn't catch on. :) Even as an adult, there is something so special about choosing what to wear for this special day... so this would be my pick if I could have my way with those gorgeous stacked heels!!

It's kind of awesome how shades of sherbets are making a comeback, plus you can't really go wrong with pretty, pale mint!! Happy Shoesday!

Let's own Monday

Oh hello friends! Welcome to Monday- how was your weekend?? In all honesty, ours was quite exhausting which makes it tough to start the week with the usual gusto. So on this grey day as winter is lingering a little too long, I am going to treat myself to an overly caffeinated beverage, sport some neon, smile at some strangers and focus on setting the tone for a FABULOUS week.

How would you create your own sunshine?!?

The art of the knot

There's nothing quite like a man dressed to the nines & donning a classic tie. Admittedly, I never thought I'd be the gal attracted to a daily-suit-wearing guy, but my man has proven me wrong! While I thought tying ties was something all men are basically born knowing how to do, I realized the other day {as I found out that my guy ties all of his co-workers ties} that is just not the case. The art of the knot was underestimated and for that, I feel bad. So ladies, I urge you: if your man doesn't know how to tie a tie, take a look at this adorable little chart of basic knots and school him. :)

Happy weekending!!

Girlie Stuff

One perfect little accessory has the power to pull together an outfit or finish off an ensemble. Well, we're currently loving on these chic loose pocket clutches by Anya Hindmarch and feel that they are the perfect compliment to all things casual- with the versatility to rock in even the most formal of situations. How cute is this metallic 'Girlie Stuff' style...

And don't pass up the opportunity to gift one of these lovelies for a birthday wish, a huge THANK YOU or simply to say 'I love you'! Wouldn't they make sweet bridesmaids gifts too?!

Pretty Paper: Jennifer & David

I still remember my first meeting with Jennifer... absolutely loving both her personality and the wedding concept that her and David were dreaming up. They are such a sweet couple!! We paired golden and natural tones with a punch of strawberry to create this romantic suite. It was really important to Jennifer & David to reflect an essence of New Orleans in their stationery, since they had both spent time living there and would be having a New Orleans jazz band performing on the big day. Collectively, their invitation suite, day of accessories and their wedding as a whole was a perfect blend of New England elegance with some southern spunk!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Beads & bows

Oh hello and happy Tuesday Shoesday to you! These flats are not only gorgeous from every angle, but they're not-so-tactfully reminding me that the weather in New England is ruining our chance to be fashionably excited about spring. More than anything I want to don my skinnies and some sassy flats {especially if there's a chunky gold mini heel involved} for the day, but instead we longingly admire these beauties and pray for the snow to melt.

Have a lovely day!!

Etsy crush: Oelwein

Happy Monday! How was your St. Patrick's Day weekend?! As promised, mine was low key with a steady intake of Lucky Charms. It was just what the doctor ordered! Today, I'm excited to share a little Etsy shop design crush that I've been enamored with for weeks now. France based, Oelwein rolls out bright, kitschy, patterned items that are perfect little gifts or fun treasures for the home. These are things you likely won't stumble upon in your local boutique...

Obviously the Ohlala tote bag is among my faves, but that neon pink antler dishtowel is kind of awesome, don't you think? Oelwein is reminding us of how much we LOVE patterns and NEED some more color in every day. On that note, here's to hoping that you have a bright and cheerful Monday!

Celebrating St. Patrick

St. Patrick's Day in Boston is quite the occasion! Whether you're planning an epic celebration or a humble tribute to St. Pat, it's been impossible to ignore the hype. Though last year my celebration was quite tame {hitting the slopes in Maine in lieu of hitting the bars in Boston sounded a bit more refreshing}, there is no shame in admitting that this year will be similar. While enjoying a quiet celebration, it's absolutely necessary to incorporate some Guinness into the festivities... :)

{Guinness/ Guinness Chocolate Cake/ Guinness Marshmallows}

Have a fun and safe St. Patty's day!!

Loving on Lilac

When I stumbled upon the Bleeker Bloom collection from Gorjana, I was completely drawn to the soft leather and the pastel hues that are trending for spring & summer. Who would have thought that lilac handbags would be so incredibly chic?!

{from top to bottom: Foldover CrossbodyWristletTote}

If Gorjana is new in your brand book, take note that it was founded in 2004 by a precious husband + wife team. They are not only focused on offering a range of high quality items {think jewelry, shoes, scarves...} that won't break the bank, they are also committed to supporting several charities and social causes. Yep, that makes the company even cooler in our eyes!!

Happy Purseday!

On the contrary, if you're looking for something sweet, sentimental and of the pampering nature, check these out:

{1} Deco Inspired Mirror Compact

{2} Sofia Coppola Champagne- pair with chocolate, candles or jewelry

{4} Custom Stationery- super affordable & easy from Paper Source

{5} Jojo's Bling

{6} Custom Fragrances by Neil Morris

Chic rainy day attire

Having grown up in Seattle, I became accustomed to not using an umbrella 95% of the time. Yes, it rains the majority of the year, but we get so used to it... it's the air we breath in the pacific northwest. I didn't realize how strange it was until I moved to Boston and learned that if there is a chance of rain, I simply couldn't survive the day without an umbrella. The reality now? Wind gusts paired with rain, fluctuating from a gentle mist to a torrential downpour and back again, all within minutes... and it leaves this Seattleite feeling a little unstable. This is why we pay attention to awesome rainy day fashion such as these beauties from Burberry:

{via/ via}

As if the umbrella isn't stunning enough with those chic stripes, we're loving the studded detailing on the handle. Too bad it's a pretty penny {as in $995} to purchase this work of art. One splurge that we will never, EVER be able to justify. So instead, we just draw inspiration from it. :)

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!!

Pretty Paper: Pia & Rob

When Pia and Rob came to us wanting to create a nontraditional invitation suite for their indian fusion weddings, we were elated at the challenge. With a series of events surrounding their Belle Mer wedding celebration, we took advantage of the opportunity to incorporate icons that complimented the elephant monogram seen throughout their big day. Aside from the specialty paper envelope liner, the gold foil, the patterns and playful text, my absolute favorite part was the texture of the RSVP envelope. Seriously, I wish everyone could have a sample of this paper... but because that's just not possible, I'll leave you with the fact that the line is called 'skin'. And that is how the unique texture of this rich crimson paper is best described. We hope to share more fun & unique details of Pia and Rob's wedding soon, but for now, take a peek at their suite...

Weekend Inspiration

Another weekend is upon us! What do you have planned to entertain and inspire yourself this weekend? Here's a few things that we're brewing... it's going to be a lovely few days indeed!

Day tripping!

While our men are hitting the slopes on Saturday, a dear friend and I are planning a day trip to the north shore for some site seeing and shoppin'! There's nothing like leaving the city, the public transportation, the snowy streets and chaos to relax and explore a new place, with coffee in hand {obviously}! Days like these are surely filled with inspiration...

 {via}

Moisturize!!

Our skin has been feeling the effects of winter weather and we're just dying to bring it back to life! Things that can contribute to dry skin- age, genes, long hot baths or showers {guilty!}, wearing woolen clothing {how else can we keep warm?!} and weather changes. This weekend, we're taking extra care to exfoliate and then plan to use a light oil to replenish the moisture that we've been lacking. Oh,  and we must not forget to load up on good old fashioned H2O and green tea!

{1} Peter Thomas Roth Buffing Beads

{2} Josie Maran Argan Oil

{3} Smart Water

Get Cookin'!

Or in my case get baking... which comes way more naturally than cooking. I'm a die hard fan of anything with salted caramel or salted chocolate so this weekend I plan to whip up a recipe for Salted Caramel Bars that I've been eyeing on Pinterest for way too long. I cant think of anything better than cozying up inside while watching the snow fall and snacking on these little guys...

Happy Weekending!

Customizable clutches

Since we focused on groomsmen gifts yesterday, it's only fair for today's purseday pick to be fitting for a chic bridesmaid gift. We're completely swooning over these playfully patterned clutches by Ila Handbags. Their spring/ summer line is full of fun prints like these...

{via}

Oh, but the best part about these little beauties? They offer the option of making completely custom ones! Whether you want to use a fabric with your wedding colors, incorporate a family heirloom or repurpose a favorite blouse or skirt in the form of a handbag- you call the shots. Such a fun idea, right?!

Happy Purseday!

Groomsmen gifting

Guys can be next to impossible to shop for... case and point, I'm currently shopping for my brother's birthday gift and it's TORTURE! What does this have to do with Wedding Wednesday? Well, if you take the challenge of shopping for one man and multiply it by 5-9, you may be searching for the perfect groomsmen gift. Ugh! Well, lately we've been stumbling upon some cute and clever little gift ideas {some of which can be used or worn at the wedding} and couldn't resist sharing them with you IN CASE you're in the market or know someone who is...

{1} Remain Calm Cufflinks

{2} Leather Magic Wallet

{3} Forage Ties

{4} Magnetic Collar Stays

{5} The Art of Shaving Kit

{6} Whisky Stones

Happy shopping!

Tuesday Shoesday: Making a statement

The last few months we've been on a pattern craze and have been drawn to all things stripes, chevron {yes, still!} and of course the timeless polkadot. These little Louis Vuitton stunners are melting our hearts with the sweet bows, paired with a classic pattern, boldly contrasting colors and their chunky heel. Quite the statement shoe, if we do say so!!

Pretty sure these are on the "must have" list for the ladies of True Event. These gals sport their signature colors at most {if not all} of their events!

A little bit of paradise

Emily and I ended last week with a special site visit to the Ocean House in Westerly, RI. We were honored to be over night guests along with a handful of other wedding professionals including the ladies from True Event, Merci New YorkA.a.B Creates and Daughter of Design. Now let's preface this by admitting that we were huge fans of this venue to begin with, but after two days of soaking up the five star luxury first hand, we're flat out obsessed. So of course, we've got to give you the scoop about our time behind the doors of this iconic and breathtaking resort!!

Toni {their Sr. Catering Manager} hosted us and could not have been more welcoming, warm and professional. Our time started with a full tour to get acquainted with the property & amenities, including the restaurants, bars, the on site herb garden, work out facilities, lap pool, hearing about the array of activities offered seasonally & daily and touring the award winning OH! Spa {check out their relaxation room that over looks the ocean}...

We settled into a wine and cheese tasting with the Ocean House's own Food Forager {who was so sweet, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about her job} then finished our tour by taking in the INCREDIBLE views from the penthouse, various balconies and the side deck that over looks the ocean as well as the croquet court...

Post tour, we checked into our rooms and proceeded to gush about the cozy beds {with 400-thread-count Frette bed linens and 100% goose down pillows... OMG}, the huge soaking tub, the luxe robes, our fantastic view... and the complimentary treats just pushed us over the edge.

Our day finished with cocktails with the general manager and an incredible dinner with Toni and a special visit from Abby from Style Me Pretty. The service was impeccable, food was phenomenal and their house made wine {as well as their full selection} was to die for.

Really, these few photos and brief overview can't begin to do justice to our experience. You really must go, if you're an east coaster... whether it's just for a day trip and dinner, a special celebration or a search for the perfect wedding venue!!

Weekend Inspiration

Hallelujah, it's FRIDAY! Any fun weekend plans?! After a super busy week, in the Paper Moss world, we're launching into a crazy busy weekend, but in the midst of the insanity, there is still time to think outside of the box to ignite a little inspiration!!

Don some colored jeans!

Winter fashion can be tough and feel SUPER repetitive. You know what we're talking about, right?! Well Glamour Magazine makes some easy suggestions on how to spice up a winter ensemble and finding a seasonally appropriate way to rock the colored jeans has to be among our faves!

{via}

Visit the beach!

No I haven't lost my mind, but rather I'm exploring this new opportunity for inspiration. Over dinner the other night, a friend was mentioning how much he LOVED visiting the beach in the winter. I'm thinking... CRAZY! But the more I contemplate my insta-judgement, I realize that it could still be incredibly beautiful. While all of you in warmer climates laugh, I'm going to go find the beauty in some snow covered sand piles. Any east coasters care to join?

{via}

Sip some bubbly!

In our opinion, it's the ideal weekend to sip on a little bubbly. After having a surge of inspiration to make a Tuesday night champagne cocktail with a girlfriend, we discussed what a shame it is that we don't pop the bubbly more often. So alas, this recipe for a Raspberry Pomegranate champagne cocktail is on the list of weekend to-do's!

Happy weekending, lovelies!
