A spring staple

Are you ready to have your mind blown? Yes, today I am taking a leap of vulnerability and sharing with you something I am way too obsessed about. In the spirit of Purseday, I think you'll understand. So, have you ever heard the name Clare Vivier? If not, you're welcome and I'm sorry. Clare makes the most beautiful leather bags- a perfect merger of chic Parisian style and California cool.

So why am I sorry, you ask? You will likely experience the same lustful longing that I continue to suffer from and will probably feel torn over which color to start with. Case and point:

Which one do you have your eye on?? Be sure and check out her other styles, including a modern spin on the FANNY PACK!

Pretty Paper: Betsy & Kevin

Betsy & Kevin came to us with visions of a casual and sentimental wedding at the Newport Yachting Club. This young couple who was full of life and ridiculously in love incorporated stripes, icons and a fun, non-traditional invitation layout in their two color suite. We completely love the pairing & contrast of peach and teal. If you're with us on that, pop back on Wednesday {for Wedding Wednesday} you'll see some more pretty inspiration with these colors!!

Weekend inspiration

In light of the heart wrenching events in Boston this week, our weekend inspiration is all about comfort, reflection, encouragement and strength.

1. Get your bake on

Baking is one stress reliever that benefits many. When I saw these blueberry + honey butter cupcakes I knew it was a matter of time until I found a reason to whip them up. If you're not in need a reason to bake this weekend, you'll want to file this recipe away! Don't they sound delish?!

4. Reflect

Getting out of bed at an ungodly hour to see the sunrise is painful, but every bit worth it!! This is one of my favorite times to reflect, to pray and to take in the beauty of the world that is so easily distracted by the busyness of life. After all that has happened this week, carving out a time for reflection is beyond needed. Thank you, Rich Williams Photography for sharing this stunning photo of a Boston sunrise!

3. Stand as one

Those affected by the Boston Marathon bombing this week are finding ways to move forward with strength. Showing support and solidaridy in every way possible, we're pretty pumped about the men's & women's shirts that Adidas is selling to benefit The One Fund.

Happy weekending!!

Toting ombre

If we're being honest, ombre is one trend that took a little while for us to warm up to. We're seen it in home decor, paper trends, hair, culinary arts and of course in the fashion industry. So what if we were in the "slow adapter" crowd for this one... we're on the bandwagon now!! Anthropologie has some pretty stinkin' cute ombre handbags that we're kind of obsessed with:

{Ombre Dip-Dye Tote}

{Ombre Straw Tote}

{Ombre Fringe Tote}

Aren't they fun?! Maybe you think they're... not quite your style? Either way, we'd love to know what you think about these purses & the general ombre trend.

Return of the dots

During a client meeting just last week, we were discussing some of the fabrics that our bride is planning to use for her big day. If you know that I studied textiles in undergrad, you'll know that conversations like this excite me beyond belief! While I won't divulge the sweet details that said bride is dreaming up, I will say that one of the fabrics we discussed is the ever classic, Dotted Swiss. Just days later, I was super excited to see that J.Crew's 2013 Spring Bridal line features a gorgeous gown made of just that:

I personally am loving the Carenna Gown but if it's a little too casual for your bridal taste, there is also a shorter option {AKA the Catie dress} which would be adorbs for a rehearsal dinner or for bridesmaids!! And while we're loving on Dotted Swiss, I'm kind of obsessed with the fabric inspired cake that perfectly replicates those sweet little dots:

Have a lovely Wedding Wednesday!

Love for Boston

We're taking a break from Tuesday Shoesday today to honor our city and ask for you to join us in prayer. For the family's of those who died... for all those who were wounded and those in critical condition... for those who were near... for those who saw things they so badly want to forget. Pray that justice would be served but that our hearts would not be hardened from this act of terror. Please pray that as a city we would know how to move forward, how to comfort those in anguish and how to forgive. For now, all we can do is pray.

Thank you all for your love and support!

Sweet sayings from Wicked Paper

After a long and beautifully busy week, sometimes all we need are some motivational words to lead us into the weekend. Perfect opportunity to share our latest Etsy find? ABSOLUTELY!!! We're digging these bright & sunny posters from Atlanta based, Wicked Paper Company. Since it would be silly to post them all, here are a few that will give you an idea of the cuteness that awaits...

Goodness! What is better than funky typography paired with sweet sayings?? Might be needing one of these for the office... but there are so many cute ones to choose from!!! :)

Pretty Paper: Marissa & Brian

We here at Paper Moss love a good challenge, especially when it comes to designing. When Marissa & Brian came to us with visions of a vintage and folk art inspired wedding, we instantly fell in love with the concept. Through working closely with Marissa and her event planner Sarah True, we brought it to life on paper and had a fabulous time carrying the designs through to details on the big day. For now, take a peek at their letterpress invitation suite!

But today's wedding inspiration doesn't stop there!! Just last week, the ladies at True Event shared a few pics from Marissa & Brian's wedding day. If you're digging their folk art & farm inspired style, check out their mini-feature! More photos to come... ;)

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

April Showers

The seasons in New England can really take a toll on us... bouncing from hot days, to cold days and torrential downpours, to cloudless skies and back again. So what is one necessity in every New Englanders wardrobe? Spring rain shoes, be it rubber ballet flats or bright boots. These powder blue Hunters would certainly help take the edge off of a stormy spring day, don't you think?

{via}

At least we can rest in knowing that "April showers bring May flowers"! Hopefully. ;)

Spotted on Martha Stewart!

If you've been following us for any amount of time, you might know that Martha Stewart is one of our favorite people. For obvious reasons, right?! Well, today I'm happy {and honored} to share that some of our pretty paper made an appearance on Martha Stewart Weddings!! Jennifer and Dave's New Orleans inspired wedding was an infusion of southern flair {they both previously lived in New Orleans} combined with their New England roots. Together, they dreamt up one beautiful Connecticut wedding! Please join us in celebrating our Martha Stewart appearance and take a peek at these beautiful wedding pictures courtesy of Elisabeth Millay Photography!

And of course, we couldn't resist sharing some of the stationery pics!!

 Thanks for being excited with us!! Have a happy Monday!

Friday Inspiration

After a long week, you're probably aching for some self care and some rejuvenation! If we're being honest, that's how most Fridays go in our world. :) Well our inspiration for this weekend is geared towards just that!

1. Eat healthy

{via}

We're all getting ready for swim suit weather, so we may as well cover all our bases and start with eating healthy. I love this idea of toting little salads around in a mason jar for lunches, which makes it super convenient AND easy to mix when the time comes to dig in. Cupcakes and Cashmere has some great ideas for how to make salads a little more exciting- check it out!

2. Write about it!

Journaling doesn't come naturally to many people but it can be such a great stress reliever as well as a source of igniting creativity! Soooo, go grab a super cute journal {like this one from Anthropology, perhaps?!} and scratch down whatever is on your mind. It's kind of fun flipping back through and seeing where life has taken you!

{via}

3. Get some fresh air!

There is nothing more stress relieving then going for a walk, jog, hike, bike ride or {fill in the blank} in the great outdoors. Fingers crossed that you're facing some nice weather in the next couple of days... if so, jump on outside and get refreshed!

Happy weekending, loves!

Saturday Purseday!

When I discovered that Kate Spade was launching her new brand, Saturday, I felt like I was going to hyperventilate. Truly. Though I'm not nearly as obsessed with this much more casual, less "girly" line, their "Design your own Weekender" shop is BRILLIANT. Yes, from the base to the pockets, the straps to the handles... you get to customize in whatever way your little heart desires!

{via}

Seriously, check it out. If you're like me, it will suck you in for hours looking at the endless combinations AND toying with the idea of adding a monogram on top of it all! Gah!

Wedding Inspiration: Romantic Neutrals

When it comes to creating a romantic glow for your wedding, we're totally swooning over the idea of pulling together muted, chic neutrals to make it happen!! Less feminine than the blush alternative, this palette is versatile and timeless. Check out our pairing of beige, cream, white and gold and let us know what you think...

{clockwise from top left: shoes; table setting; chair signs; bouquet; bridal party; cake; gown; ring}

Are you in to the neutrals or do you prefer bright & bold colors?

Bring on the heat

Well ladies and gents, Tuesday Shoesday is upon us and although spring is still fighting its way in, we've got sandals on the mind. Why, you ask? Well tomorrow night, my man and I head to a much warmer state {Arizona} to celebrate the wedding of one of his best childhood buds. Consequently I'm in panic mode, pulling out clothing appropriate for 90 degree weather... keeping in mind that it's been months since my last pedicure and my entire body is a lovely shade of bright white. While I bathe in sunless tanner, I couldn't resist sharing the Jack Rogers jelly sandals that I've been eyeing. Yes, the navajos return in their glorious bright sassiness, but this year I am LOVING the georgica style!

{via}

Tell me, are YOU ready for sandal weather? Which style would you go for?

The Knot: Pretty Purple

Just the other week, Emily and I were on our way back from a meeting and stopped into a little newsstand to check out the latest batch of wedding magazines. I'm so excited to share that we spotted one of our very own invitation suites in the latest issue of The Knot Boston and we just had to give you the update!

knot-cover.jpeg

We had heard that purple is making a comeback in weddings this year and this color report is convincing us that this is great news! Seriously, what a fresh and romantic round up AND you can pair purple with a variety of accent colors!

Thanks for sharing in our excitement! Happy Monday!!

Happy Easter weekend!

Alas Friday is upon us and though it's been a fabulous week in the Paper Moss office, we're rearing to start the festivities of the weekend! What do you have planned this weekend? Will you be celebrating Easter or paying homage to Spring in another bright & cheerful way?
